That is sweet ! I have a Remington 870 wingmaster shotgun. I bought it brand new at around 1982. The gun has been with me everywhere, and has taken much game including piles of deer. So, I know the feeling of those special guns..

Traded a 70's era Winchester 94 that i could never get excited about for a 1956 Remington 760 five of diamonds in 300 Savage last year and refinished the wood, installed a skinner peep. Took it's first big woods buck with me last fall on a great hunt under challenging conditions. Dragging it out took all that afternoon and the next morning. Nice 8-pointer with heavy beams. The more you hunt this way the more you realize the trophy is the hunt itself.

Hey Hal, nice collection of iron! Nothing beats blue steel and walnut! I’m way out here in the pacifiic northwest. Also on rtirement pension so I can’t afford a 760, but I got a ancient 30/30 ,, 2nd hand from my Dad when I was 13 or 14, I’d sure appreciate you doing a vid tracking deer with a ‘94 Winchester. Shake things up a bit, ha ha . Stay well my friend.

I have a 760 in 30-06 that I purchased in 1971 when I got out of the army. It has a 22 inch barrel and had a 3-9 weaver scope. The scope went bad so I replaced it with a Nikon pro staff 3-9. Love that rifle.

What an outstanding collection. Owned 3 of the 760's during my lifetime so far (I'm 76). I've always thought they were one of Remington's finest hunting rifles ever made. So much more accurate than the semi-auto's. At least that was my experience. Thanks for sharing these fine rifles.

Very nice history from Remington. I had a 141 in .35 Remington that was a beauty. A very nice gent who because of age and health stopped hunting deer and bears sold it to me when I was 15 years old. 13 years later, he left me his waterfowl gun which is a beautiful Winchester model 12 heavy duck gun.

Great rifles. I have my father's Model 760, he bought in 1968, chambered for .30-06 and I also have a Model 7600 chambered in .35 Whelen. If there was ever a better elk rifle made, I sure don't know what it is! I used it for elk hunting from 1988 for nearly 20 years, hunting in the Bob Marshall Wilderness of Montana, until I could no longer ride horses and hike in mountains due to arthritis.

I was only 8 at that time. I carry a 30-06 Remington 760 rifle I bought new in 1972. Still have it. A little light in the blueing too. Taken many .Pa. I am enjoying your channel lately, just recently found it. I have always enjoyed hunting in the snow and like the idea of tracking a big buck up. I used to try it when i was a kid here in TN but i was limited to about 300 acres or so. A lot of that was open farm fields. I think i could have had success if not for the fact the deer always kept going to property i didn't have permission on so i'd have to stop. We get a lot of people from up north move in here but it's always jerks from big cities who are anti-hunting. I know there are good people in small town and rural areas all over this country but those city folks can sure turn a guy off when it comes to northern folks. lol . I'm the type i always plan to do the things i have always enjoyed but don't mess with that and i sure won't bother you for doing your thing and i don't do a thing that hurts a soul. You are lucky with all the snow you guys get and having so much space. Too bad big racks are less common in your area but that isn't always important however i saw your trophy room and was quite impressed. Be safe and happy hunting!

Im a Remington Pump man through and through, Im left handed to, so there is no better Hunting Rifle out there, that is as light and fast to shoulder, carry, and follow up your shot if needed, and i would choose these Rifles even if i were right handed, when i was 12 i got my 760 Game Master .308, iv'e killed everything with that rifle, except my last 2, which i got with my 7600 .35 Whelen, and my Muzzle Loader, but i have a 760 .308, a 7600 30-06, and a 7600 .35 Whelen, and i love all three of them, but im pretty partial to my 760 Game Master .308, ive been lugging her up and down the North East Mountains for 22 years now, in New England especially there is no better choice period!

.270 is a great deer cartridge! As far as cutting the barrel, it's your choice. Remington only made .270 Carbines in the early 1960's. The original .270 Carbines are worth too much to hunt with. More of a collector gun. Both Lanny and Shane Benoit hunt with their 7600 cut down .270 Carbines.

I don’t know what it is about a pump action rifle, they’re not practical when shooting from a rest. They take more hand eye coordination to operate than most other actions. Long range accuracy certainly suffers because the barrel isn’t fixed. I don’t know what it is about pump action rifles…but I’ll probably hunt with one until I die. :)
