Imams Abu Hanifah, Abu Yusuf and Muhammad believe that only fishes are Halal out of all that which lives in water, and is born in it. This is because Quran (5:96) which the opponents often use to argue has a certain context which they often overlook. As for horse, yes all madhhabs agree that its halal as is proven from Ahadith.

Yet we don't even find a single week narration from even a sahabi that he ate any seafood other than fish so why didn't they eat other seafood if they underatood the Quran and Sunnah better then us? We also base our argument on 7:157 as Allah prohibits us from eating Khabaith. We say that if you consider all seafood halal then that would include distgusting stuff which a normal human being would refuse tthus they are all included in khabaith.

Look at the context of that verse. Look at what's immediately before and immediately that part. That verse is talking about what's permissible and impermissible in Ihram and in haram. That's why the next part says "and has been made haram for you what's hunted from land as long as you remain Hurum"

So that verse "has been made lawful for you the hunted of the body of water" just means that there's no resrtiction on hunting from the sea (and eating that) in Ihram and in Haram. This is the opinion of Imams Abu Hanifah, Abu Yusuf and Muhammad. Also, even if you differ in interpretation of that verse; how can you label that as halal which also spends its time on land like crab. That would even make crocodile halal.

@@shamilshaikh253 ... "mazhab" means, a sect of the religion. Generally, the religion is called Islam. In the religion of Islam, there are 4 different sects which follows the Imam who brought them. These sects, ONLY came about after the demise of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). These sects have some variations in certain law of syariah and fiqah base on what their Imam interpreted from the Quean and Hadith. In general, none of their rules that goes againsts the main Syaraie. The only difference being their interpretation only.

They don't prey on humans, most of what you hear about sharks comes from the typical movie stereotypes, not all sharks are used to humans our smell, our shape and movement, they mostly confuse us with seals one of their favorite foods, and their only way to know what is what is to bite their eyes aren't very good. Most importantly there are hardly shark attacks unless provoked or when during mating season sharks don't normally attack

It is harram according to the Hanafi madhab but not for the other 3 major Sunni schools of thought.
