It's great to see folks of ALL ages committed to carrying their culture and traditions forward. I admit, the littlest, tiniest dancer running off in tears just about broke my heart.

Mahalo for sharing this video of hula outside of the competition. It is fun to watch the dancers doing their thing without the pressures of actually competing. Hula is the sincerest expression of the Hawaiian culture, in both the old and new forms. Hula teachers, the Kumu Hula, are essential for the perpetuation of the native culture. They are heroes in the valiant effort to prevent our indigenous culture from vanishing under the assaults of the dominating foreign culture present in the islands today.

What a thrill to see them all! Wish I had been there! Hula is a beautiful representation of a beautiful culture. Itʻs sad that some just donʻt understand that hula is SO MUCH more than a dance. Love, Love, Love.

John Duncan I don't know you but your comments read like they come from someone who thinks that they are better than others. Why put someone down for something that they enjoy? You should check some of your facts. I'm wondering if you will read this and think I'm just some idiot but you don't know me either
@newvocabulary6 жыл бұрын
Tony Maria, I think you're an idiot because you're expecting me to respond to you even though you're not in the parent thread. Why not put anyone down? What's the point of civility. Nice people lie the most.
@tonymaria3556 жыл бұрын
John Duncan I you sound like a happy person ... It's easy to insult someone personally with a keyboard isn't it . You're being laughed at and you're right nice people lie . But it's still a shame that you can't see the beauty of it or the power of the hula . Still you don't know me
@newvocabulary6 жыл бұрын
Tony Maria, it's super easy and really fun. There is no power in the hula. At all.
@kyeharford46506 жыл бұрын
You know what you just did? Denied all Hawaiians and their ancestors. Keep that in mind. Mahalo
@newvocabulary6 жыл бұрын
Kye Harford, no, I just called bullshit on the "powerful" act of hula that's never changed one god damned thing in the world and never will. It's retarded dancing to banging on gords.
