Exploring the red graded mountain bike trail (The Ridge Ride Trail) at Haldon Forest in Devon. There are some really fast and fun sections on this route and at only 10 kilometers it can be ridden at a fairly speedy pace.
Worth a visit!

Fully agree with the last bit. It doesn't need to be in there at all. I love the stone bend at the end of the section before the huge incline

I prefer Kiddens, it's a lot faster and flowing. This red trail is more like a XC ride/cardio workout. I wouldn't really call it a red.

I have rode the red trail a lot of time and that last part does let the trail down but on my giant trance 4 2017 on the fast sections you can just shred down the trail and it’s super fun I was there today and road that trail I might have been there the same day as you I was on a blue black and white full suspension my giant trance

Unfortunately the black is still closed. About a year ago I made a 'black trail update' video, but to be honest I don't think they are ever going to open it. Perhaps we all need to keep emailing them so they reopen it.

Hi me and my friend where wondering what ages and experience you would suggest this route for. We have some pretty good experience. We both have hard tails
@bikeandbeyond
@bikeandbeyond 2 жыл бұрын
I am not sure about ages, but because it is a red trail the signs suggest being a competent rider. Everything is rollable and It's fine for a hardtail. Take mine there all the time.

Hi, They have added some new features to the fast section just before the fire road. They have added really nice and big burms and really tight burm with a rocky burm opposite. I found this really challenging wonder if you have ridden it?
@bikeandbeyond
@bikeandbeyond 4 жыл бұрын
Ah exciting. No I haven't ridden them yet. I really like that section and I always like riding new features. Burms on that section will definitely help it to flow. Thanks for the heads up!

@@MTBSprout After you mentioned it the other day I had to go and see it for myself. I headed up yesterday evening for a quick look. The whole section has been revamped. That last part is definitely a bit more technical than I was expecting.

@@bikeandbeyond so for my first time, your suggestion is to just roll down it slowly and concentrate on not sliding down the side of the hill.
@bikeandbeyond
@bikeandbeyond 4 жыл бұрын
@@almostanengineer Yeah pretty much. I wouldn't worry about rolling down the side of the hill. You would have to be going at a serious speed (or be pointing in a very strange direction) to get anywhere near the bracken or the hill side :)
