I feel like they listen to the I'm put of those who use it, and don't release a product until it'd perfect (in their eyes) for the intended use. it's a good business model

Slings have always been "confusing" for me and this video is really good at explaining how to fit, attach, etc. No bullshit. You sold me and I shall buy one. Thanks!

Awesome!!! Being able to change from a two point to single was the reason I got the MS2 when it was introduced. Few years later now, it could use some padding and seriously considered going to Blue Force. But damn......this D3 Sling got my attention!!!
@bruno4158 жыл бұрын
damn you travis! damn you! i was actually sowing a sling kind of like that myself with the climbing webbing, I was struggling a bit. I am actually using the old latches from the alice packs; a seal showed me that on my last deployment in 2011. I have to say i love the video. you addressed all the issues i was having with the body armor we have it just sucks. I cant stress enough on how your videos and equipment is awesome and helpful for us to use and work with. i hate looking at products and struggling to figure out if i want to spend the money on it just to miss the point and not use it properly or its subpar. I hate to say it but im not a pro and i screw shit up all the time. When you add videos to go with your products and how to use them makes life so much easier. i watch it and learn and the light bulb goes off, "oh that so much easier"! thank you very much for everything you do and what you do.

I picked one of these up from Bravo Company and am impressed. Coming from a VTAC 2 point padded sling, I didn't think it could improve much. I always appreciated the theory behind the Magpul slings, but not the materials or execution. I'm actually shocked by how long it took to come out with a sling that seems so simple, lightweight, and functional. Job well done, Travis.

I just got my D3 sling in the mail the other day with the QD thorntail, my question is for 2 point mode for a longer barrel rifle do you recommend going tight to the rear of the handguard like yours there or further down?

Hey Travis,do you have to buy a certain kind of rail system in to use the sling?
@xCrimsonxTidex8 жыл бұрын
There are three things I notice that Travis says alot: 1. "weapons manipulation" 2. "combat effectiveness" 3. "mm, kay?/"Okay?" The first two makes you sound like a damn salesman, lol! So good, in fact, I bought a D3 sling and a Thorntail mount. Can wait till it shows up at my door tomorrow!
@underbluewaters78 жыл бұрын
I just got my sling and am having trouble with the fit. I'm a smaller build and have already adjusted the fit buckle. I've pulled in a lot of slack, but I find that my weapon tends to pull down on the sling and bring the pad off my shoulder. It seems like the fit buckle is good for fine tuning but if I bring it way in it just throws the system out of whack. The "solution" is to pull the adjustment handle back to around 80%, but then it's way far back and out of my reach. It works pretty well, but negates the benefit of the quick adjustment feature altogether. Any tips? At this point I either cut and resize the strap under my left arm or build a bigger chest.

Late to this party but, Travis nice explanation on how to fit a sling.
@Bobsonomatic8 жыл бұрын
Looks like an awesome sling. Did you already cut the excess tail on the sling in the video, or is that as long as it is? I'm a big guy and it doesn't look like there's much extension left below that fit buckle.

Is there a reason why in the 2 point configuration when you pull the tab towards the muzzle it loosens rather than tighten

What kind of sling mount do you need for this? Or does this just magically click onto the stock endplate?
@jeremykejordan8 жыл бұрын
I just purchased one for work and look forward to trying it out. Mr. Haley would you have any sugestions or thoughts for a situation where it becomes necessery to shoot while using the D3 Sling in the two point configuration. Also would you consider demonstrating the recommend method for getting into the sling quickly, ie. deploying from a LE car with a weapon rack. Thank you
@gianantoniozodiaco57608 жыл бұрын
Love the concept behind the adaptability of all the D3 gear. I like having options. random question btw. the D3 logo would make a badass shirt or patch. Have you ever thought of making at least a limited run?

@TheActiveAssault8 жыл бұрын
Submit it to The Marine Corps. Send free samples to infantry battalion gunners and make them an offer they can't refuse. This is a good investment. Grunts get fucked with shit gear, hook it up. It's a small investment and if the product is something you believe is superior then it will be widely adopted. This'll be great for assaultmen, scout snipers, and just about anyone rocking two weapons. We've all seen that Marine who has to awkwardly toss his rifle behind his back to employ an AT4 inadvertently flowerpotting. Fruit for thought
@AnimeSummit8 жыл бұрын
+TheActiveAssault Well, the Corps never got the MS3 sling from magpul either. Currently the only approved slings are parade slings, 3 point slings, and the Vickers blue force sling.
@dadajackyo8 жыл бұрын
+TheActiveAssault The politics are not as simple as giving them the best available, unfortunately.
@Tacticalgunguy19898 жыл бұрын
+TheActiveAssault I know the Marines issue inadequate gear to you guys. I don't know if you could buy one and use it in the field as regs change a lot.
@AnimeSummit8 жыл бұрын
Tacticalgunguy1989 The 3 I listed above are the only officially allowed and, as far as I know, regulations state no others can be used. But you're unlikely to have someone enforce it, and if they do, that's a huge sign of a bad leader, provided you aren't trying to use a sling you made out of duct tape and paracord.
@Tacticalgunguy19898 жыл бұрын
good to know.
@nathanp20078 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I have been looking for, $89 is pricey but if I assume (I think rightfully so) that the quality of parts and build quality is high (won't be falling apart on me or tearing or have sub-par sling swivel's that stop working) then I have no problem paying that price.

Travis, what separates your sling from the MagPul MS3/4 that justifies nearly twice the cost (or at least an additional $35 - $40)?
@Kataquan8 жыл бұрын
The difference i see is the slick material and extra padding near the neck, the magpul slings tend to dig in to skin pretty harshly

eh, I'm not a big fan of stretchy slings.
@nbates98938 жыл бұрын
+Anime Summit don't knock it til you try it...The soe bungee is not the same as shit like condor bungy...it doesn't stretch unless you want to stretch it...and in awkward shooting positions particularly supine...The bungee offers adaptability that non bungee slings simply can't give you.
