Nobody really competed. Both were cool music videos back then lol. This one was featured on MTV though, so it would have been considered the more popular one. I remember watching this in like 2006/2007

This was my introduction to Breaking Benjamin. I was playing HL2 on my Xbox at the time and one day on a train ride a friend was browsing through KZfaq on his laptop. We were both speechless when we saw this video. It's THE video I will always associate with KZfaq.

It was truly ground-breaking at the time. Nowadays you have to look through the grainy resolution but it works so well regardless. For some reason I remembered it this morning and felt I had to watch it again.

Man I still remembered having seen this back then before I even known what KZfaq was. This was one of the animated music videos that was playing on a show from MTV called "Video Mod", and it was one of the best music videos I've ever watched from there. Not just because I was familiar with Breaking Benjamin and 'So Cold', but it got me more interested in what the game is like. This vid and the Orange Box commercials were all that got me familiar with Half Life 2, and I'm forever thankful for that.

Every time I watch this is am reminded that this old era was more then me being nostalgic. You can find someone today creating cool animation and etc but stuff like this was special. Today people are creating highly edited videos because of easy access, easy learning curve and abundance of learning videos around this craft. Imagine being a dude in 2000 creating stuff like this. Stuff like "Confessions of a security guard" shows me how great HL2 community was. Sad that machinima fucked it up but at least community is back to salvage some stuff and you can find it on youtube re uploaded.

This whole music video I will never forget seeing in MTV. Video mods helped me find music I would love and remanence when playing games. Half life is definitely a game that has changed my life ever since I learned of it in 2010’s.
