Those ships are probably living beings that the Combine...repurposed into ships, like how the Overwatch soldiers have been extensively modified underneath their suits.

Never heard much about the dropship in Alyx, keep forgetting it even appears a bit The skin looks like the colors of a Combine grunt. So maybe it's a special combat dropship for dropping soldiers?

Those dropships were probablymeant to be worker type dropships because they look like the worker striders

This is probably the drop ship when it’s still hasn’t fully adapted to earths environment hence it had its “factory” appearance, straight from the line. Along the way they developed aquatic like features to better function in water and atmosphere. Keep in mind the drop ships, striders and other alien synths aren’t even modified from existing animals, they’re synthetic copies of species the Combine most likely had long wiped out, but incorporated their usable blueprints for future use, like in this example, the policing within an environment like Earth.

also did u know that the combine grunt tank explosion if u hit it was actually a feature in opposing force at the engineer grunt and if I'm not wrong it was planned for hl1 but they scraped it? this shows how valve never forget to use the smallest details and features even if they were decades old

I think this could be a sort of “elite” drop ship, being up-armored and possible given increased “engine” power, allowing for quicker and safer deployment of combine elite troops, rarer and more protected assets to the combine

This is Amazing, That "Uniformed" Skin makes the Combine very organized Forces. That Yellowish and Tan Color doesnt match the Combine Sci-Fi theme.

It legit looks like an Elite Combine Dropship that someone would make for GMOD. But just way better looking
