Half Waif is the 80's influenced indie electronic project of Nandi Rose Plunkett. She refers to the material as a "search for a sense of place" and that search is reflected in her confessional lyrical content. Rose Plunkett uses echoing synth modifiers and pelagic keyboard tones to amplify the emotion revealed by her arresting delivery of these intrapersonal tunes. E money there's a lot of overlapping members in both bands and that's part of it. Idk just listen to their music side by side. Pinegrove's folksiness gives it a brighter quality which contrasts with the darker electronic tones of half waif

If you wanted to get super deep about this you could say that Half Waif being the moon get's it's glow from Pinegrove being the sun.

As with many Audiotree sessions, I would say I prefer these mixes over the EP mixes. Particularly in the vocals here. On the EP they are mixed just a little lower and are a little 'fuzzier' so it makes it harder to understand.

Fan of pinegrove, that's how I found this thru an interview... but this is amazing "mood vessel" music. Awestruck by voice and sound. Definitely all your own and stunningly beautiful.

man you guys always bring on the best artists and it's filmed beautifully but the part system you guys use on your youtube is a mess, put an annotation on the main video if you're trying ta split into the songs, the parts just make clutterrr
