The location of the video has already been used for a fight scene in the Hollywood film "Black Death" with actor Sean Bean. The film has one of the most spectacular deaths of Boromir's actor, but the fight scene in the caves is Hollywood standard. If you want to watch the scene, you can find a clip at the following link:
• Black Death - Attaque ...
Armingsword and falt top kite shield vs. longsword duel inspired by a historical painting of fighting knights from the 13th century with a strabbed shield and a onehanded sword in both hands.
I am the silver knight as always, so don't be confused with the helmets. I loaned my second helmet to my red friend Martin for this fight.

Man, I just found your videos last night and have already watched probably a dozen of them. I love the borderline real fights and I really appreciate the insights you can provide into armored combat from experience. One thing that came to mind when watching your Judo video, you showed a clip of a combatant grabbing his opponents leg while grappling, and I thought that could have been the end of the fight if he had his knife in his hand, as he could have just slid it up. This made me wonder about the practicality of having a spike on the thumb area of a gauntlet. I don't think it's historical, but do you think it would be useful or detrimental to have a 4-7 centimeter spike on the end of a thumb to stab with a thumbs-up position or on the knuckle of a thumb? My thinking is that could turn a grapple to the leg or shoulder into a serious threat, but it may also be a risk of being something that could be tagged by swings or grabbed and either break the thumb or make it harder to freely move the hand. I don't imagine it could go through chain mail, but through the gaps around a helmet or the fabric groin area. What do you think?
@dequitem
@dequitem 4 ай бұрын
I think that you need a longer spike minimum 15 to 30 cm is nessesary to injure your opponent under his armor and padding (daggers had a 20 - 40 blade). Such a long spike can hinder you significantly. I think some more weapons at your belt are better than a long spike.

It's sometimes practically and sometimes a hinderence. I wouldn't recommend most shields.
