Beside Sekita, Japan has Masaki Oya as reliable setter. I have followed Sunbirds and Oya for so long time. In 4 seasons Japan V League (2020-2023) Sunbirds got 3rd rank in 2020, became champion in 2021 and 2022, and got 2nd rank in 2023. On that Sunbirds achievements, Masaki Oya has big roll as the main setter. Then in 2023 Oya got the best setter in AVC Club Asia Championship and he also has a big roll in bringing Sunbirds became the champion of AVC Club Asia Championsip 2023 In the club achievements, Masaki Oya is better than Sekita. And when Oya and Sekita facing each other in Club (Sunbirds vs JTEKT Stings), Sunbirds always win, that means Oya's team always win against Sekita's team in Japan V League 2023 But i dont know why Oya rarely play as the main setter in Japan national team? Oya often played as the reserve setter and often to play as the setter to reserve player of Japan I dont know, why the coach of Japan dont try to make Oya play often with main squad of Japan? Maybe Sekita has more experience with main squad of Japan, but come on, do the coach not want to try new formula to play Oya as the main setter of Japan? Oya has awesome performance in the club for 4 years, I think it's worth to try Oya plays as the main setter for Japan I really want to watch Oya gives set to Nishida, Ishikawa, Ran Takahashi, Miyaura, Onodera, and Yamauchi I think that would be interesting and worth to watch

Oya is predictable, and slow to place. Sekita continues to be better in every collective and individual aspect. And its place is not given, it will be for something. Sekita has faced the best setters in the world, and for the most part he has given an extraordinary level and won, I have not seen Oya face such.

Sekita won't be the main setter for the national team if he isn't producing outstanding results but he does, in every game. It is great that the national team got amazing reserve setters tho 💪

@@topico3513 yeah Sekita faced so many strong setters like setter from France, Poland, Brazil, and Italy because Sekita play more often than Oya in national team. Sekita is awesome setter too. But I mean maybe in friendly match against strong team it is worth to try Oya gives set to Nishida, Ishikawa, Ran Takahashi, Onodera, and Yamauchi. In the club performance also Oya has better statistic than Sekita. Oya's team (Sunbirds) always beat Sekita's team (JTEKT Stings) in Japan V League 2022-2023. And at that season, Sekita in the same team with Nishida, Yanagida, and Tine Urnaut (from Slovenia National Team). But Oya's team always win against Sekita's team in that season. So I think it's worth for Japan National Team in friendly match to try Oya as the main setter.
