The ball was wet from the rain and Brock tried to wear gloves. When that didn't work he was out of sorts. The passes were not on target and they are lucky to have the win. The football gods were looking out for Brock and the niners.

FWIW, rain effects every QB. Peyton Manning (HOF) lost 8% of his effectiveness in rainy weather and he functioned better in the rain than virtually every other QB in the NFL. Aaron Rodgers drops 13%, Rothlesberger drops 15%, Brady drops 17% and HOF Kurt Warner lost a whopping 25%. Every QBs suffers, some dramatically like the previously mentioned Warner, but also HOF Dan Fouts who was abysmal in the rain.

Steve Young vouching for Purdy as the QB I totally agreed with...but not his claim that SHAMnahan is a good coach. SHAMnahan plays for the 3-pts kicking game before halftime in the Playoff & SB is Pathetic. SHAMnahan purposely stalled the offense momentum so the other team would not get ball back is STUPED absurb. Especially when 49ers were not up by a lot. SHAMnahan should take some math classes as everybody is playing lights out to beat him

The Purdy discourse is weird. His fans want to make him out to be Joe Montana and his critics make him out to be Neil O'Donnell lol He is a good quarterback who can distribute the ball to the playmakers efficiently.

Both QBs were affected by the rain and the wet ball. Love threw balls all over the place, could've had four picks instead of two.

Steve it wasn’t the rust. It was the rain and when you have smaller hands you can’t grip the ball you saw him with a gallon so I’m wiping his hand the Packers made mistakes. They should’ve thrown a red flag when they went for it on fourth and they got the first down and it was confirmed after the 49ers hike the ball of course they didn’t show the overhead shot Until the 49ers hike, the ball but I blame that on Matt Lefore for not calling a time out to look at it or throw a red flag that was at least three points and when McCaffrey ran for a 32 yard touchdown, the clock had expired, and no one threw a flag For the game so consider yourselves lucky a black Purdy did throw a really good dart but it was the receiver who caught that ball in the center of the field. That was an amazing catch and I’m sitting here screaming at the TV just cover the middle of the field that’s where Purdy‘s most dangerous, as is most quarterbacks, the quarterbacks that can throw it to the sidelines on a rope go lions

49ers defense stood up in the 4th quarter. Not sure what Hargrave was doing or Thomas most of the game.

Hope they shore up that run defense quickly.
@geraldbennett70356 ай бұрын
they wont. They play a 4-2-5 Defense this year since Azeez Al-Shaair went free-agent. Thats why GB was trying to run wide (only 2 LBs). Niners have a weak secondary so 5 man zones makes them play pass better. They try to make teams move the ball down the field slowly and hopefully stall out or get frustrated and make bad choices. @@jeffmiesen

5:35. This is why I did not want to face the Eagles and Rams. They were both crawling into the playoffs but they were an experienced team. With us having almost 4 weeks off, I didn't want to get into a one-off scuffle and anything is up for grab and a rematch. Or even the Bucs. I really hoped Packers the bottom seed (no disrespect) would squeek past the Cowboys and I had 100% faith that they could pull that off too. But when they stormed into Dallas, I got nervous about my wishes. Thankful Niners hang on. Only 8 quarters of football left, 4 is not yet guaranteed. I hope they get the job done this time. 3rd times the charm

I didn't think all that time off was a good thing...maybe Brock has smallish hands and that heavy rain made it harder to hold it well

Steve makes it sound like Purdy is throwing behind the LoS all the time. He has a lower percentage of his throws behind the LoS than most of the league! That stat was cherry picked by a hater a month ago. The fact is he leads the league in deep passing completion percentage. I loved his interview with Brock, but there’s a lot of stuff in here that I vehemently disagree with, and I think it perpetuates the thinking that will keep Brock held down in comparison to “the elite guys”.

Steve Young the adult in the room, great analysis.

I am in no way a conspiracy theorist but certain aspects of this game seemed almost scripted... 49ers don't cover, it's a battle to the wire and if you don't think corruption is in this league on a large scale you're completely blind!

Brock is good but is he in the tier of Mahomes? No. But that also excludes practically everyone in that case its now up to the roster.

“On The Money Steve”. Most of the retired quarterbacks say the same thing about MVPurdy. With the exception of “Don’t fall on the fumbled ball” Newton. The armchair Talking Heads spout if Brock was on another team, they go nowhere. 😂😂😂 You tell em Steve, 9ers have THAT Guy!

A wet ball always bothered the great Rich Gannon and it was said to be due to his small hands. I am guessing Purdy has small hands.
