I had a Halla 220 bought myself in Korea in 98, $45,000 Can with 1100 hours, and brought over, and guarded up logging package at Contact Equipment in Courtney. Was a very good machine, very similar to Hitachi, except Cummins powered. There was quite a few gray market machines around 20 odd years ago. I brought in quite a few myself, until it dried up ... back to real world prices... around 2000.

One day in the future people will drag these old machines out because they can't fix this new stuff.

Guarding package looks like what Jewell used to do. We called that type of build up a road builder or a pioneer machine. The quick coupler we called a wedge type coupler and they fell out of favor for the pin grab units seen now days. I've seen plenty of those machines from Canada also set up with dangle head processors. Undercarriage looks pretty good for a machine that has been parked for so long. Someone should put together a data base of old machines that might be available for parts.

There was one or two Halla machines here back in the early 90s. Rarely see new machines Come With Sh*t buckets. Mostly, Daequip, Accurate is second.

To my novice eyes, she looks like a stout and well designed machine.

Nice video Neat old piece It does look very similar to a Hitachi. Is Halla a rebranded Hitachi?
