Halle Bailey EMOTIONALLY Reveals Why She Kept Her Pregnancy Private

Halle Bailey is revealing why she decided to keep her pregnancy private. The 23-year-old singer was one of four people honored at the 2024 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards on Thursday and gave a passionate speech when she got up to the podium, wiping away tears as she reflected on why she kept her pregnancy close to her heart. "There was no way in hell I was going to share the biggest joy of my world with anyone," she said. "Halo was my gift. He is the greatest blessing, and I had no obligation to expose him, me, or my family to that," she added. Last year, "The Little Mermaid" star kept her pregnancy with boyfriend DDG a secret. The pair welcomed their son Halo in 2023 and the Grammy nominee revealed the exciting news in an Instagram post on Jan. 6, sharing a picture of her holding her newborns hand. As for why she chose to keep it private until after his birth-she said it came from a "place of protection."

Ok, Halle had the right to keep her pregnancy a secret. Even though it was not a well kept secret pregnancy, the one who kept it secret best was Kylie Jenner but anyway. Again Halle didn't have to say anything her pregnancy because it's not our business. However, I found unnecessary for her to correlate her keeping her pregnancy a secret with abortion. Like keeping your pregnancy a secret is completely different an abortion.

Other races do this equally. But black ppl's perceived shortcomings are always highly publicized as if we're outliers in society. In Hispanic culture ppl RARELY are actually getting married. They just call their significant others husbands and wives, but it's not legal. White people also do this, however they are also not publicized in the media and proceed in such a way. You should not make blanket statements as this, especially if you are black. You should be uplifting black culture and your black people or find a better way to express how you feel. Girl please no one was telling you what to do with your body. There's nothing wrong with keeping a beautiful secret like that but We all knew you were pregnant -even when you were trying to hide it. You now was tryna gaslight the public about it and calling them desperate because they were right. That's the price of fame it comes with being noticed! You should have stayed out of the spotlight if you didn't want to be seen and enjoy your pregnancy in peace! and announce your joy later if you wanted to! Many women do, Ciara for instance laid low with her fourth pregnancy and announced it later when she was about to pop. Pregnancy is not something you can hide that's the price of fame! I love Halle but honestly it gets worse every time she talks about why she hid her pregnancy because none of the explanations are logical. She didn’t avoid public scrutiny or stress by attempting to hide it. Simply saying yea I’m pregnant but I’m keeping it private would have actually led to more peace. Instead she actually deprived herself from actually being able to fully enjoy her motherhood journey. This is why I think she’s sharing so much stuff now because she realizes that she didn’t get to enjoy it as much as she could’ve. I also think she’s not giving people enough credit. People would have congratulated her and given her words of encouragement just like they did keke Palmer, and the good comments would’ve outweighed the negative ones.
