14 Years after Halo 3's release, both the Guardian Sentinel and Sentinel Constructor are back. One was completely missing from the game, along with its parent mission Guardian Forest, and the other was never fully utilized in combat. With the power of mods, any piece of cut content can be brought to Halo!

I can't help but picturing that happen during Halo 5's ending. Because wouldn't the EMP'ed ships lose life support? Maybe the kill counter would go something like this: UNSC Crewman was killed by the Guardians UNSC Crewman was killed by the Guardians UNSC Crewman was killed by the Guardians UNSC Crewman was killed by the Guardians UNSC Crewman was killed by the Guardians UNSC Crewman was killed by the Guardians UNSC Crewman was killed by the Guardians

I feel like if they just have download support it should be fine. Like halo modding works a little differently to say garrys mod or fallout modding where you have to download everything individually. Halo it’s all the stuff is just included in the map it self.

In the cut level before killing the Guardian, the Chief was supposed to rip his red eye and use it as a weapon, kinda like the sentinel beam but more powerfull. Dunno if it was actually true or nah, I heard it from a KZfaq vid wayyyy back.

Idea: use the terminal center piece for the eye thing like to be held like a flamethrower but it's a huge powerful sentinel beam.

constructors are not fully cut content they are featured in Halo 2 and play a role in Halo 5's campaign as well. They are passive, they repair things, hence their name and their welding beam Still cool though

If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure they also appear in Halo Online's map "edge." I know I've seen the constructor before and I'm pretty certain that's where I saw it.

They appear in Halo Wars multiplayer too. There's 3 types, a shield, aggressor and repair type. Just wish Enforcers would make a return.

@GoTi4No and the Publishing Team have stated their tools will be very similar to Custom Edition’s tools. And to top it off they’re also considering allowing people to use their other tools they’ve used to patch the engines of the games together, although that right there has some legal issues so it isn’t a promise. And Custom Edition’s “tools”? Is literally the Dev Kit for Halo CE, they just packaged them into “Halo For PC” for free. They’re identical to the tools that actually made the game. Very bright future for MCCs modding if they’re evenly remotely similar. Not to mention, of course, possible Steam Workshop support they’ve mentioned (although mentioning again: that one isn’t a promise and might not happen).

@GoTi4No for your first question: you can already do that. For your second question: what I mean by “legal issues” is that these are in house developed tools funded by Microsoft, they can’t just splurge that out into the internet without making sure they’re allowed todo that otherwise they’ll be charged with Industrial Espionage. And what I specifically mean those porting tools will allow: it’ll allow (possibly, might break you’re entire MCC lol, we’ll have to see if you need to be a tech guru) people to *add games to the MCC*. Whether that be other Halos or not. I’m sure you can see the potential on the smaller scale too: porting of certain enemies and their AI to the MCC, or animations and models-without the need to recreate them, you can just port them.

@GoTi4No you mean the User Interface? Then yes, it’ll allow you todo that. *however* Only if we get those extra engine tools. If we get modding tools for the games and not the extra ones then we won’t be able todo it, since the menu is several engines merged into one that isn’t integrated into any of the *actual* game engines. Unlike Halo CE to Halo 5, where the main menu is run in the game engine, MCC’s main menu is its own separate engine-that has other engines mashed into it too, for instance Unreal Engine 4 was added for the Spartan Custimization menu.

Looking forward to when MCC gets better mod support and we can see players recreate some more of the halo missions that were cut and attempt to create more of what their original plans were.

@@animalconsultant7796 Polishing the game now would be a waste of time. They absolutely should wait till after all the intended features are in. For every feature a programmer adds, several previous features will, almost certainly, break. It's the nature of game development. That's usually why polishing comes in at the late stages of development

Would love to see the Sentinel Enforcers added back into Guardian as originally intended! Not sure how much material was left for it's model or of an updated H2 model can be used. Juggernauts & Enforcers are by far some of the coolest underutilised units which still exist in rare encounters or through mods. Shame we can't recreate that huge Strato-Sentinel

Damn if those things were regular enemies like the forerunner version of elites I think it would have been so cool. Like imagine in that giant desert portion of the ark when you’re heading towards the cartographer where the scarab comes in there’s a three way battle between the UNSC, the Covenant, and a swarm of sentinels supported by a dozen of these Guardians. I think it would work well if they showed up in that mission. Now that’s something I’d love to see!

I really like how you did this mod, with the addition of the cut sentinel, but it doesn't feel like a "boss battle" like the last one you made. Feels more like "killing a brute chieftan" kinda battle. Im kinda sad that the last one wasn't the real one, just imagining going into a big battle with tanks, pelicans and etc against this massive guardian created to contain and eliminate the flood.

Technically both are correct, as the Guardian went through multiple iterations. This one is "more correct" because it's apparently the final iteration before it was cut.

I you can do this without modding tools, just image what you can do WITH them. You could actually make the full level in campaign. Not only that, but new enemy sentinels, new weapons for them, and even make them usable. Cant wait for modding tools this year

All the halo games were actually able to port models from past halo games, halo 4 has a halo reach scarab in the game files for one of the spartan ops missions. A halo 3 beta had the exact model of a halo 2 heretic banshee. Halo 2 had the halo ce flamethrower somewhere in files. Halo reach also used lots of halo 3 assets in the game. There is a KZfaq called altheros who was able to mod game assets(ai, textures, animations, lighting effects, weapons, almost anything) into a game mode from Halo CE, 2, 3, ODST, SPV3 and Reach. He basically spawns different versions of NPCs and pits them into random death battles. He made a nodded version of SPV3 called the altheros Experience that adds these previous halo assets to the game.

It was meant to be between The Ark and The Covenant, no reason was given for why the Guardians were hostile but it could just be a simple case of them trying to protect something in the forest and everything was considered hostile to them

@@slipstreamtechnician2811 My assumption is that they are part of either the Halo defense network against potential invaders, or activated Flood Containment Protocol machines, seeing as Halo was suffering a full breakout of the Flood. Most likely, it is a bit of both. After all, why wouldn't the Halo installation make note of Chief's destructive prowess? He blazes a trail towards the controls of Halo, and opened far too many doors on his way in. ;P

Those little sentinels are also present on a surely much more finished, developed, and polished state on the map Edge from Halo Online. Maybe you can port them into MCC.

Awesome job, love it to bits. Just one thing, the constructors are sentinel repair units, their beams aren't designed for proper combat. Still you did it some justice, I'm proud man. Maybe you could function the constructors to repair the guardian, like a fail safe incase of an emergency.

Not sure if you know or not but the lil sentinels actually appear in Halo 2 on the level Quarantine Zone. They are all around the map using there welding beam to repair stuff. The beam they fire is literally the same beam 343 uses so you doing what you did was a fantastic idea and lore accurate. Great job mate!

Oh the tinny builder drones are like those little Forunner auto turrets you get in the last level. Not the ones in Halo 4, the ones in 3 are a bit under utilized.

I kinda miss the large imposing guardian. I wish 343 went with that for h5. Especially when I dropped it into my ark bound world. It was so big and creepy.

The giant guardian would have fit more tbh, especially since it would have an epic hornet/banshee fight against it in the forest. The guardian fight in this video feels more like an enforcer, with stronger attacks and more health.

The way the "skirt" is divided into smaller sections makes me think that they might've been legs. I imagine in a fight it would mainly float around but after dropping its shield or getting its health low enough it would start using the skirt to launch itself toward you or crawl around like general grievous.

This is awesome as usual. I've always thought a firefight mission where you start as a marine and work to ODST, then S3 then S2 would be cool, or at the start have the choice of each but balance out with weapons and abilities.

This feels like a lead up to the boss fight you created. Like the mission would consist of jumping to three platforms, defeating the big guardians then heading to the major boss encounter a the end

Just a head's-up, Constructors were in Halo 2. They always were scenery pieces, and were usually used in the way you see them; as little robots working on facilities and repairing stuff.

I imagine it would be pretty difficult from a technical perspective. And also from a player's perspective, because they're quite a bit more powerful than any Sentinel we've fought in the (official) games thus far.

Recommendation: Port the sentinel from Halo 2 or make a Halo 3 version to fit it. Because the "Guardian" could be the Hunter. The sentiental from Halo 2 with the shields (can't remember the name) could be the Elite. The regular sentinels could be the like Jackals because of their range. The constructors could be Grunts.

Sentinel Welders are from Halo 2, they are on Sacred Icon & possibly Quarantine Zone (not sure about that level). You can mod their green welder projectile onto any weapon its fun but weak as hell. They are enemies in Halo 2 but they dont fire at you and you dont fight them but your reticle does turn red when aimed at them and you can kill them. They float around and shoot their green projectile at the walls etc to look like they are fixing things and it will do very minor damage to your health if you get hit by one on accident. Anyone that's a big fan of Halo 2 will remember these mini sentinel characters.

I want to see a pelican that can carry vehicles like tanks mongooses hog etc but it doesn’t have missile but still have a nose mounted gun in the your ultimate forge

I find the "godlike" version of the guardian waaay better than this, but it sounds fun and fits the Halo 3's battle style very good.

Fun Fact: the "Sentinel Constructors" are also seen in Halo Online's "Edge" multiplayer map. They are at the Blue spawn.

I always liked the idea of Sentinel classes which Halo 2 really introduced and Halo 4 kind of did, just not in the way many people would expect or even enjoy with the Prometheans. I think if they were blended with the Halo 2-3 designs they could have been really cool along with more unique gameplay. I loved how Halo Wars 2 showed more of the semi classic designs of sentinels and really made you feel like some explorer traversing a giant automatic industrial complex. HW2 really did a great job making the ancient races feel truly immense and powerful and I want to see them do that with Halo Infinite.

actually the prometheans at one point were going to be more like what you described kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eMueddGZ0pOpmJ8.html everytime when i look into halo 4s' development, the more i wish i got what it could have been, rather then what it became. which honestly to me feels less a true innovative sequel, and more like a dumbed down version of halo reach, with a less diverse sandbox and worse level design, with an artstyle that tries way too hard to be cool and graphically impressive, rather then tell a story or set an atmosphere. here is also an gamasutra article that details halo 4's development if you want to know more www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/191234/making_halo_4_a_story_about_.php?page=3

@@grailw9221 I don’t fully agree on some of those points but I definitely see what you mean. I feel like they focused on some aspects too much and misinterpreted some aspects to the point it fucked with a lot of the game art wise and gameplay. 5 did worse in my opinion to be honest but I do see your valid points. They didn’t really organically make the transitions to the different ideas and played it too safe in some spots. Some aspects were cool but others felt wrong. I guess we will have to see how their recognition of the controversy works out.

@@gendygoblin8391 i did not mean for my previous comment to come across as so negative. i actually did replay halo 4 recently and despite it issues, it's still a decent game and there where times, i heavily enjoyed it. especially during the level requiem which honestly feels like something from bungie, with strong level design that includes a lot of options to tackle obstacles. and there were a few good additions to the sandbox such as the hardlight shield, which is a major improvement to the similar albeit useless armor lock from halo reach. and if halos' 4 and 5 had a more unified team, i honestly think they could have turned out great. and be similar to what we have seen so far from halo infinite, which appears to reuse a lot of scrapped ideas from the previous 343 games, and even some ones from bungie such as the elites armor and the shattered halo ring
