I think the firing sounds are ok about as good as halo 4 but what's with the other gun sounds like when reloading or melee they sound like cheap plastic i'm sure i have a gun made of metal and polycarbonate or something rather then what ever nurf guns are made from

Yeah it was one of the most iconic weapon of the series, but to be honest the storm rifle is better (in gameplay).

343 nailed the oomph fairly well with Halo 4, but weapons in Halo 5 sound way too crunchy.

I meant the sounds of the weapons sound too realistic there forenit not being a sci fi like it should be. It just gives that extra vibe of fantasy instead of sci fi.

Derpy Fruze Halo is sci-fi, but isn't a fantasy. Yeah, it has fantasy elements, but really it's a sci-fi. The original Halo sounds were good, but became overused. Halo 4 did something new to bring even a realistic turn to it. Personally, I like that idea. Halo 5, just made it a stereotypical sci-fi/fantasy in sound design. Friggin' laser tag sounds. Pathetic.

Excellent video comrade. They really outdid themselves with the visuals & animations in this game. Binary Rifle will always be my favorite though. A weapon that projects a stream of ionized particles jacketed with antimatter is nothing to scoff at.

The needler is a melee weapon in itself! It's like a porcupine you can shoot.

Imagine being able to melee bash someone, have the needler stick onto the person, then have it explode as a super combine 😂 kinda like how the grenade melee mechanic works in gears of war except you're using the entire gun as a grenade

Forge needs to allow us to spawn the special Warzone weapons and vehicles, so we can test and experiment with them, without having to wait who knows how long to finally get one, and so we don't have to worry about some a-hole assassinating us while we're in the middle of testing it.

+Burt Rusfield You can test some of the weapons like the Answer in the campaign, you just gotta find the weapon in a mission. Not all missions have a special weapon but weapons like The Meathrillian one can be found in a Master Chief Mission and that weapon is a legendary.

These guns themselves (not the firing sound) sound like mashing toys together, listen to the reloading sounds it's like grabbing an action figure and (as I mentioned) putting two toys together and rubbing eachother

I feel like the storm rifle could have easily been the plasma repeater, or at least look more like it. but I suppose I get 343's weapons thinking behind weapon classes and how they visually look along with their name.

Thank you for including the names of each weapon and the times that they appear in the video's description, otherwise I would have no idea WTF the Hydra and Plasma Caster were called. Without that I would have been stuck calling the plasma caster "that cross-bow thing" until someone would finally correct me, and as for the Hydra, I would have no fucking idea what to call that!

The Plasma Caster operates almost similarly to the Plasma Launcher in Reach. Just saying.

Not quite, I'd say it is more like a concussion rifle filled with plasma grenades and very slight tracking. The plasma launcher is far more effective against vehicles than the plasma caster.

Like Battlefield 4, Halo 3 and up are games that IMO has "good enough" animations. Generally nothing spectacular but never bad enough to be distracting. Still pretty impressed with Halo 5's overall presentation though :)

+VanCanuckDD I have not used the binary rifle enough, all i know is that you have to keep the beam on the target for the whole duration of the shot to deal max damage, not sure if it's 1 shot though. You have to charge the inc cannon for bigger blast radius similar to how it was in Halo 4.

Wait What? Halo has aim down sight for all weapons? WHY? What happened to the run and gun fast pace of Halo, where you don't keep hitting that damn aim button all the bloody time? They went and put it on the sword too? I am so old! off to play Halo 2 again... where I get to dual wield to my hearts content!

The aim down sights is just an aesthetical change, the weapons and zoom-in function work exactly the same as the previous games, you'll still be shooting from the hip 90% of the time.

WHY 343, they changed the ammo cap on the assault rifle from 32 to 36. just why do you need the 4 spare rounds.

Maybe balancing, that's why they changed the glorious 60 round MA5B from halo CE to 32 in halo 3, I cry every time I think about how I used to be able to stunlock enemy AI forever :(

Uh... That Fuel Rod Cannon idle animation is incomplete. In fact, is there only 1 idle animation per weapon? 'Cause a lot of 'em don't seem right at all. It's disappointing.

Yep, only 1 per weapon. The FRC animation is complete as far as i know.

Omike shock Yeah, it's gonna be nice to have that 12 rounds per mag sniper pistol that's a massive threat to all enemies and that 2 barreled devastation that spins with each shot. *Feels the epicness*

I miss how unique it felt in H4 but in comparison, right now is a lot better at close to medium range.

the game has decent sounds and weapon echoes, just the fucking non firing sounds are way way too crunchy

I think most of humanity's weapons are gas powered in halo so that might have something to do with it but if your bored sometime go look up the specs for the halo CE magnum, it's a beast :)

ItalianGinger Gas powered? Like fossil fuels you mean? No offense, but that's dumb. Its all smokeless, experimental, and solid propellants. Unless you mean the gas piston system? But even then a firearm that is made in the 26th century would have safety mechanisms in place. And I also checked what cartridge the M6D uses. 12.7x40mm SAPHE. Closest real cartridge in comparison would be the .50 Beowulf, without the armor piercing explosive effect.

+DJ Weapon yeah I don't know exactly what they mean by gas powered but it's in halo CE's handbook, guessing it is the piston option and the safety mechanism is that the first time you load it you pull back the slide and that takes it off of its "safe" mode so then after that you can just insert the next clip whenever you reload the weapon, that was all from the wiki and yeah it's a damn badass weapon isn't it, ~3,000 ft lbs of force :)

God the weapons sound tinny and empty. No bass or mass projected through the sound.

Those explosions are ridiculously small....they should of toned up the blast radius a bit more. That's very depressing to watch, especially coming from big weapons of mass destruction -_-

+Hectorlo Yeah sorry, I meant to say visually. I'm pretty sure the blast radius and damage is correctly balanced, the explosions just look so ridiculously small
