The legendary ending for Halo:CE is Johnson and an Elite fighting over a rifle right before the Pillar of autumn explodes. When the detonation starts they put the gun down and embrace as the fireball consumes them.

I'm aware of that. the "wat" is supposedly Chief's reaction to hearing it since he jerks upward at the "hold me", hence the quotation marks around the aforementioned "wat".

When I first thought about the Warthog run using the Cursed vehicles I figured that the flying Hog would be the easiest to do it with, I mean you could just soar over all the hazards right? I didn't factor in the possibility that it'd fly like a brick

O H G O D you can clear every jump in Maw without a warthog. If there was no time limit it is completely possible to finish the mission without a vehicle.

I could be wrong, but if this was based on the same handling as the CE pelican, then doesn't shift elevate you and control lowers you? Also if I remember correctly, A banks left and D banks right. I could be wrong since I haven't played the cursed halo mod. I am just recalling from what I remember in older halo custom edition maps.

The controls on the Flying Warthog really is fuggled. Forward is Forward and Down, Space is Up and Nothing Else, and Down is Hover. Fucking Hover. No left and right. You actually managed to make the Hoverhog work better than I did, I didn't figure out the tilting thing. Love your playthough, you're the one who convinced me to pick this game up.
