While this work is fun, you have to understand why ship to ship battles is a disadvantage to the UNSC. Approximately 70-100 kilometers distance when two opposing fleets face off with the use of magnetic accelerator cannons or (MAC) And the use of archer missiles for cover fire/screening bombardment which isnt effective cause of energy shields on the covenant ships. Halo is much more realistic and only used longsword class which carries nukes to harrass the covenant. And the only starfighter that the unsc can field against the covenant are the Sabre class fighters which is super late into the war with covenant reverse engineering shields implemented. Sadly most of them were destroyed in reach either to not give covenant info about them or they got destroyed while fighting above reach. (Operation red flag to kidnap a covenant high ranking member and negotiate peace but was cut off thanks to the covenant finding the location of reach.

Excellent work! Honestly if the Halo TV show wasn't such a flop to the eyes of the community. I could see this scene being the opening for any hypothetical Halo Show. It's just that damned good! And your work and many other was just the beginning as well. Recently there has been an upsurge of Halo fan made content coming onto the scene.

Space battles are the most awesome ones! For example the little clip of the infinity going into battle when majestic arrived at requiem was one of the few but awesome scenes ever!

Judging by the current stuff going on with 343 maybe a different gaming studio could dedicate an entire Halo game about space battles!

While I agree that it would be awesome to see some of those battles focused on, either as cutscenes or through a game which isn't just mods applied to other games, I feel like I should point out that the majority of those battles are going to end with destroyed/routed UNSC forces since it's, you know, the Covenant.

They should make a game like that. Something similar to Squadrons or something!

Well visually good, tactically not so. Only two fired MAC, the optimus way to fight would be that the frigates are more separated between them, so they dont have to lose time turning the ship 180 degrees. Anyways, good clip

@@obiwankenobi3574 They did the best they could seeing how technologically they were outclassed. The only times the UNSC won in a space battle was via pyrrhic means.

i dont think those small ship are used for glassing, i think only the bigger one are.

​@@basedsneedclave175 they did use the archer missiles at the end. It doesn't matter, archer missiles don't do shit to Covenant shields anyway. It takes MAC rounds just to weaken their shields enough for Archer missiles to even have a chance.

Check out the game, Sins of a Solar Empire, which has a total conversion mod called, Sins of the Prophets which basically turns it into UNSC vs Covenant space battle rts game

If i recall correctly a corvette is pretty weak compare to a battlecruiser to the point the UNSC Commonwealth a Paris class frigate was able to 1v1 one and came out alive (tho half of the ship along with the MAC was destroyed)

Tbh it's cause Ground wise Humanity had much better odds, plus the Covenant ships having shield where UNSC did not, if the UNSC had any Sheilding then the odds in space would have been a bit fairer, not necessarily by much though But on the Ground, UNSC could hunker down and put up a good fight until either ran out of supplies or the Covenant came and glassed the planet

Well actually the broadsword fighters were completed andass produced in 2535 and war ended in 2552 so this is possible

@King Seb22 possible yes. Similar to saying that the f22 is being mass produced, but it isn't the main fighter. broadswords were meant for dogfights in space against covenant equivalents. Longswords were the standard in most ships.

Actually it's like the f35 it is a multirole fighter i can carry SHIVA nuclear missiles for ships and can carry rockets for ground targets and enemy fighters

@King Seb22 so can almost every other unsc fighter. That's in the mission package, not the craft itself. The broadsword was specifically designed to fight covenant fighters up close in space, its armaments determine whatever else it can do. The longsword was meant as an exo/endo-atmo bomber/fighter, with more space and longer lasting engines(fuel). The sabre was meant to dogfight near a planet. They can all carry configurable missiles within the limits of load and space.
