Geoff actually surprised us with a new record low note and by A LOT. Previous lowest subharmonic was a D1, and he did a *B0 sub* TWICE in this song. That's a full 3 semitones below D1! Reaching the zero octave! Holy shit!

So as of now ... Geoff has a larger range than Tim . (It use to be Tim hit 1 note lower and Geoff hit 1 note higher . But if this is lower than he's hit before he hits either the same or lower than Tim?

There is a man by the name of Tim Storms who holds the world record of the lowest note by a human. He registered at G -7 (really!) Look him up and listen. He's good but I still love Geoff Castellucci so much more! 🥰🎶🎙 Geoff can sing!!

And there you have it, the answer to what changed. VoicePlay has been knocking out of the park lately, we're seeing a new creativity from them and it's all about the playing and having fun, in Rek's honour. Whenever we play, have fun and allow our creativity to flow through it magic is created. I'm a new fan of Scott's after seeing him in Lucifer and now this. I'm eager to see him in more. Thanks for the reaction! I'm not a gamer, but this arrangement and performance is crazy good. 🥰🙏💃

You're correct, Scott is an original member of Voiceplay, he had a fun bit in Voiceplay's Just Sing video. Since Layne is also an original member I'm not sure who did the beatboxing, though.

Been playing video games for 45 years. Great memories playing with my younger brother and my son. Weekend campouts on the floor with pizza and snacks. Love the dedication to their friend and the promise to keep playing and creating. Didn’t think I could love Voiceplay even more. This was fantastic and so intricate and passionate. I want more Scott. I am going to have to go watch “Just Sing” with past members and watch this one again as well. Thanks for reacting to this one and sharing the joy and commitment of creative talent.

VoicePlay did it again! 🤯🎶. They did such an amazing job, everything is just ... perfect! The arrangement, vocals, harmonies, effects, makeup, everything! Layne and Geoff are just aliens, not humans! Really, Layne shows credit for arrangement and video here, and Geoff did Hoist the Colours. They are both so creative! I love VoicePlay!! 💖. Eli and Cesar really shine, and Scott is awesome!! Layne killed it, and Geoff went lower than ever to B0! WOW 🔥 Scott's words at the end are very touching!

I’m hoping this wins them a Grammy!!! It’s right up there with Pentatonix’s “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy!” In fact, I think PTX, Home Free and Voiceplay should collectively receive The Nobel Peace Prize for connecting the entire globe with positivity during the Pandemic!!!!!!

GEOFF hit a record B0 sub in this, at least that's what it sounds like unless it is a sound processing effect like Layne explained was the case in Warriors. Absolutely incredible if he did. A year ago when he came out with his subharmonic tutorials, he was talking about his current limits but wanting to go lower. It does sound like he either layered himself or has a strong harmonic an octave higher, because I also hear a B2 in the note.

Geoff actually hit the B0. He also hit a B0 in his cover of High and Dry for a short second, but this is the first actual held B0. Crazy how he jumped from a D1 to a B0 😅

This was such a great tribute to their friend Rek. Geoff hitting a new low note, Cesar with those undertones (wow is he starting to get comfortable with the group in a big way); Eli & Layne amazing as always and Scott - it was so fantastic to see him with the group again & he was so fantastic too. Great reaction Dennis & thank you for taking the time to watch the entire video. I've watched the video so many times since the Patreon pre-release but that didn't have the dedication to Rek & the three times I've seen it now I've cried every time.

I'm so glad Cesar joined VoicePlay, he keeps showing new impressive sides of himself! I think he fits so perfectly with the group! I believe I've seen several comments on "If I were a rich man/girl" asking if Cesar didn't do overtone there too? I don't know so much about different techniques, but he definitely does something very high that is very prominent. And it sounds beautiful!

@@veronicathunander4579 Yeah, I heard about 4 or 5 distinct times he did them in this song after a couple of listens. I play around with overtones sometimes (think like shower singing, haha) so the tone is very discernable to my ear!

@@xXNunduXx I just watched QoFy’s reaction and he says there’s an overtone around 1:10 (in the original VoicePlay video, not this - around 2:55 here). Is there an overtone at 2:15 (5:10 here) as well, or is it just layered?

If so, that’s absolutely incredible! I think in the premier they said they were unedited, this could possibly be his new record lowest sub, if so!! (Without editing, so not including the one in warriors)

It's great you watched. It's such a great tribute to one of their own. It also shows pictures of him with Scott & Voiceplay on tour. Scott is one of the founding members. Yes he did beat box. His main focus now is acting. He was in Friday Night Lights, The Good Wife, Hart of Dixie, Scorpion & Lucifer along with movies, episodic TV Law & Order along with voiceovers for video games.

That dedication at the end broke us when we first watched this video... oh, it was rough. Still, it was amazing to see that performance, and we loved every moment of it. And, hey, just getting to see that non-stop look of overload on your face was... pretty darn satisfying in its own right XD

Pretty dang amazing! VoicePlay will be performing in the Genshin Impact concert on Sunday on KZfaq. It's a video game released last year. Each world in the video game has different kinds of music and VoicePlay will be performing one of them. HUGE honor for them that is richly deserved! Wonder if it's something like this?

I mentioned on another reactors video, when they were reacting to "Hoist the Colors" that when Geoff drops those basement notes, or in this case, sub-basement, even the devil, himself, is afraid to go see what's down there! He proved that, yet again in this video!

I hate to be that person who compares two groups,, but their transitions in this video remind me so much of the transitions Pentatonix used in their Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy music video. I don’t mean that as a criticism at all by any means,, that’s just what it reminded me of ! :D

If you're looking for a video to react to, I would love a reaction to MALINDA's cover of Hoist The Colours. You reacted to VoicePlay's version, which I love, and MALINDA's version is _even better,_ in my opinion. It's a collaboration with three other artists - Bobby Bass, Lauren Paley, and Colm McGuinness. I don't know anything about Bobby, but I do know a bit about the others. Colm is a killer bass, much like Geoff and Tim Foust. MALINDA is the person behind the Twisted Translations channel, where songs are fed through Google Translate way too many times and then resung. Lauren's videos are mostly her singing in a stairway, providing an _amazing_ echo effect. I believe Bobby is on the lower end of the vocal range as well. I love that rendition of the song and would love to see somebody react to it.
