hey! i went to the store to get these and found the oatmeal cookie one, but it says it has eggs and cream in it. do they have two different versions vegan and non vegan? if so where can i find the vegan one?

yes, they have two different versions: one vegan and one non-vegan. I found them at Walmart and Whole Foods

Ana A it might vary by person, or by the concentration of the sweetener. And it was a specific kind of erythritol-based granulated sugar substitute my mom used. So for all I know, it could've been something else in it. I know I have had erythritol in stuff before, and I haven't gotten that sensation. But I got almost the exact same feeling as Swayze described when I ate my mom's low-carb, coconut-flour based banana bread. For the first few bites it was pretty yummy, and then the cooling/tingliness got so disconcerting, I couldn't bring myself to have any more.

Honestly, So Delicious for me nails their ice cream. I'm obsessed with their regular vanilla bean ice cream ... it sucks that it comes in such a small container though. The So Delicious coconut beverage is also my new favourite non-dairy milk. It is so creamy and I love it with cereals and smoothies. I think it's the closest to milk that I've tasted, but I don't have much vegan products near me, so I haven't tried much either.

ItzReesieCup the boca chicken patties are pretty good if you like mcdonald's chicken which is absolutely not quality. anyway, haha. i hate when people say protein shakes are sooo good. no they aren't.

Honestly I prefer vegan and vegetarian food that embraces its individual flavor and qualities. Morning star has pretty good veggie burgers that don't taste like burgers at all, but are delicious as veggie burgers.

ala I'll have to agree that protein shakes often aren't good. Muscle Milk is disgusting and I've had one that tasted like someone mixed nutritional yeast and chocolate milk together. Bolthouse Farm shakes in general are pretty good, especially their protein plus chocolate shake.

ameneko98 saaaame. I honestly have never been a HUGE fan of meat (especially beef) so I definitely like veggie burgers that taste like what they’re made of. However, I do like seitan, so I guess I like some fake meat haha.

I actually loved meat prior to becoming vegetarian, but a lot of mock meat fails to properly imitate meat imo. I like veggies and beans and other plant foods, so I'd rather just have something tasty that fills a general craving meat used to like veggie burgers or microwavable veggie packets.

J E it’s not all/ most talenti - the gelato- but rather the sorbets/ sorbettos, which are largely fruit flavors, ie mango, raspberry, etc. They’re all delish though, as are the more unique (for sorbetto/ sorbet) peanut butter fudge (peanut butter w/ fudge swirl) & the chocolate sorbets if you can find them. For those though there are similar flavors in the gelato so make sure it is indeed the sorbet version before getting too excited. Good luck & enjoy!

Maverick Baking I accidentally bought these thinking they were the regular Halo Top and they're kind of nasty. It tastes almost flavorless and at the end you get a bit hint of thecoconut. It overpowers the original flavor in my opinion. Almost tastes like eating cardboard.

It was alright. Not the best I’ve had but it’s okay. If you don’t think of it as cheese it’s a nice topping. Good on soup or on a sandwich. Melts great. Didn’t taste coconutty etc. it was pretty good but I’m not obsessed w it. It was pretty oily and tasteless on its own

Honestly I would pick gelatin. Dairy is even more horrifying as an industry than meat. Dairy is the purpose of that industry whereas gelatin is a byproduct that exists as an attempt to not waste the remains of the animals. Since dairy cows all end up as hamburger anyway, they’re both the same in terms of torture and death. But gelatin isn’t driving the while industry like dairy is - it’s an afterthought.

If eating it vs. not eating it affects your perception of what animal suffering is worth, then I suppose the question I want to ask is what value did the suffering create? Well, it didn't make food - at least not a net gain. We had plenty of plant food to start with, someone just decided to feed it to the animal, which itself consumed a lot of the calories and ultimately when slaughtered its meat contained much less than the plants that went in. So we didn't need to do it to survive. Nor does meat appear to have any special properties for health, as there are many long term vegans/vegetarians who are in good health. There was never any benefit beyond taste - at least for those who enjoy it - to do any of this. So, eaten or not, I think the animal suffered for at most a very small thing. How many people even remember the last five meat products they consumed, or even know for sure which products they eat contain animals or not? Probably not many. To do all this for a brief, often unnoticed and almost inevitably forgotten taste, doesn't seem meaningful to me. Frankly, in to the bin or in to some consumer who probably won't remember it 24 hours from now, and who could have enjoyed themselves just as much in a hundred different animal-cruelty-free ways, seems equally meaningless to me.

Okto it's just that i used to be a vegetarian.. but i never considered that way.. and just rejected the food... but one day (when i started to eat meat again) my friend who was and still is a vegetarian.. took the plate and accept it... telling me it would have been wastefull

If you're quite sure it will be thrown out, then it's really just a judgement based on your willingness to eat it or not. I really dislike meat, the smell, taste, it's not for me, so I wouldn't want to. So it's not the choice in this specific situation that really matters to me, that's simply how you feel about the food. I just wouldn't eat it thinking it made the suffering more justifiable, as turning animals in to meat never did serve any greatly meaningful purpose in the first place.

No. If I can help it, I like to make my indulgences healthier so their impact on my well-being is less severe. At the very least, it's nice to have lots of nutrients packed into my unhealthy snacks so I get some decent nutrition when my impulse control fails. There are plenty of brands that are capable of making healthier options that taste just as good if not better, so why not migrate to something a little bit healthier?

Nutputty I think that might be a watered down version of "damn well." Kind of like "heck" or "frick?"

and she also talks about cool things and propaganda and things and thrifting and how being vegan doesnt have to be so extreme etc.

And yes this is a true story - I ate three of these last night (it was Halloween though, gimme a break!)
