the “web” is supposed represent a dream catcher. people who use them say that they catch nightmares so that you don’t have them. it’s a visual representation of her being a nightmare. she’s caught in the dream catcher.

The smiling thing is so true. Men always telling me to smile, especially when you are having a shitty day or you're going through some personal ish, that pisses me off. I remember once I was working as a cashier and I was going through some shit and just trying to get through the day and this man tells me to smile because "I'm too pretty to not be smiling" and I literally told him "then tell me a joke". How I did not get fired that day I have no idea 🤣. But seriously a song like this is so needed right now, great reaction as always.

"when i have a daughter, i'd want her to listen to your music." 🤧 she's insanely talented and how she takes it deep and profound... this music video is a metaphor and an anthem for women empowerment. to be honest, i've always loved halsey's voice and music. it's rare for me to be artist-centric but she's one of the few i have a playlist of prior to the bts collab (i expected an intense song btsxhalsey but of course being the daring and experimental risk takers these both artists are, they gave us boy with luv which i love too). but anyway, i looked more into her when she said she loves bts cos she says she appreciates bts' concepts because she does it too... and i did. i looked and i saw. and NOW THIS MASTERPIECE OF A SONG, LYRICS, MUSIC VIDEO... MY LOVE AND MAD RESPECT TO HALSEY. mad mad respect. 🖤

I came back to this reaction after watching other reactions and it solidifies the fact why you guys are my most favorite reactors. You are so aware and not superficial and actually try to observe music as a whole element; the visual, the message, the idea behind it and even the fashion. Most male reactors were just focusing on how hot Halsey is and completely overlook the whole point of the song and yet not only you guys caught the message from the get go but also loudly celebrate it and I think that's beautiful. I came here because of your bts reactions but stay here because of your genuineness and insights. Keep on doing what you're doing! 💜

I've always loved Halsey, and this song makes me love her even more. She is bringing to light what women all over have been feeling for so long. There is still more to this that needs to be talked about, but this is definitely a step forward toward women feeling free enough to speak out. The more we see it represented in media, the closer people will get to understanding.

the scene where she is covered and tied with red rope is a form of visual art called "shibari" (japanese) and it gets mixed up with bondage but while having the same base - tying a person with rope in an intricate way - shibari is purely for art while bondage is sexual and about restraint I might be wrong, so you should search it up, but I said it as I see it

Thank you for actually paying attention to and discussing the lyrics. So many reactions of men I’ve seen have all been about her body, how sexy she is, how kinky she must be-the message just completely over their heads. Especially on a song like this, it feels disrespectful and ironic.
