renaee morgan “It’s not going down like that today”. I think that’s going to be Atwater’s mantra this season. He was tired of the shootings last season & then got cuffed, manhandled & had a gun put in his face 😡, that was the icing on the cake for him. I want to know when is he going to make detective 🤔?? I thought he might’ve been, but he was referred to as Officer Atwater. I really hope he gets more focused air time this season. He is overdue.

Fantastic episode. Chicago P.D. is such an addictive series. Atwater and Jay really stepped up and raised the bar in this episode. I applaud the writers for creating memorable stories week after week and season after season. This series is Hill Street Blues on much higher captivating levels. I am hooked!

I actually think Jay was in the right here. She killed someone, doesn't matter that she was a cop. Police should be held to the same standard as regular people. Do they give other killers an option between killing themselves or going to prison? No? Why should she get the option then?

Well most killers won’t be surrounded by people they help put in prison…I’m sure that why a lot of cops kill themselves instead of having to worry which inmate is going to try to kill me today. Look at what happened to Al, he didn’t even make it to trial.

I said on the last episode of season 6 Anne Heche's character killed mayor! She was most logical and expendable. Even knowing Antonio could have but it was out of his character. And Voight would have been too obvious.

Well, I am just glad this show didn't leave us with wondering about anything like Fire and Med did. We know Voight didn't do this and we know what happened to Antonio so hopefully all are questions have been answered. There is one question pertaining to who will replace Antonio, but I think that question will be answered later on. Personall, I think the perfect replacement would be Antonio's old partner from when he was on Chicago Justice (I can't remember her name.).

@@shogun8159 In Chicago PD it does matter, the Intelligence Unit is a Family and a team, as Voight himself like to say, so if he is just the "Big boss" than Voight is just a hypocrite, the one thing Voight hates, according to him (season 4 episode 17). And trust he's demanding is goes both ways, especially now after Voight did the hell of a mess over the years with his "I'll handle it" to the whole unit, putting them all at risk every time he did things his way...and also his a cop first of all for God sake, there is the law, there is right and there is wrong, just like great Dean Winchester said: "Just because you can do what you want, doesn't mean that you get to do whatever you want.”

Jay has worked for Voight long enough to understand “Plausible Deniability”. Voight has ALWAYS been more than willing to take the bullets for his team. I understood where Jay was coming from, but Voight, as always was protecting the team from having any knowledge about anything. I agree with Voight when he said it was Brennan’s decision whether or not she wanted to be arrested or eat her gun. Same scenario Voight had with the retired cop he busted. He walked outside the cop’s house to “give him a few minutes” before he took him in. He knew damn well he was going to kill himself. We heard Brennan say at the station to Voight that he gave her one hour & lied about it. I don’t think she had her uniform on to get arrested. No, Jay #%?@&$ it up for her.

Anyone who said Jay isn't loyal to Hank, just remember that he already had his suspicions and the Homicide guy gave Jay the opportunity to side with him over Hank to save his career AND JAY DIDN'T TAKE IT. Plus, who knows if Homicide would've continued with other suspects if the evidence pointed to Hank

Brilliant episode, the only flaws are that Antonio is gone and his leave was rushed (hopefully not for good) and that we aren’t going to see the consequences of this other than Voight and Jay’s relationship that will ultimately end in Jay leading the unit (that’s the only possible ending imo)

longlivethefish You mean on P.D.? When he threatened Capt Casey of Fire when he wouldn’t lie about his son Jason? He went all “Voight” on him in the bar. He jumped up liked his was going to grab him, when Chief Boden strolled in all cool & looked at them. Voight left after Chief wouldn’t. You know Chief looks like he can throw down. 💪🏽😳💪🏽😳

This was the best season opener they ever had this was a banger but it makes me scared for the future because Voight is slowly losing it. Halstead really pissed me off in this one for going in there. Nobody's safe One Chicago just look at Ava and Otis in Med and Fire as well.

Can someone answer this question... do they use their phones as the way to communicate between eachother or is that something else? I've always wondered but this scene really does look like he's holding a phone, and other scenes have shown them use the walkie-talkie to communicate to dispatcher im guessing

Some of the rugged smartphones have the "push-to-talk" function which can be programmed to a group of phones...(these intelligence use it for their internal comm). Then they use the walkie-radio (that all police units can hear) if they need patrol cars to respond.

It almost sounded like that gun went off when Jay grabbed it. If it did, Brennan wouldn't be the only cop without a job here. Jay would get medically retired because the escaping gasses from the revolver's cylinder gap would have blown his fingers off. You can't disarm someone with a revolver the same way you do with a semi-auto. Semi autos don't have any openings by the breech, just the muzzle. So if you grab the slide on a semi auto hard enough you can induce a malfunction and the only dangerous part then is to control the muzzle direction. If you do that with a revolver, the escaping gasses from the round going off are partially vented backwards through the gap of the cylinder. You grab the gun there and it goes off, say "Good bye" to whatever part of your body that was covering it, because it's completely useless now.

I kinda knew from season 6 that Hank wasn't involved in Keltons murder but it kept you guessing if he was though
