It’s sad that those of us who aren’t conservative by ant stretch of the imagination find that so much about Israel is limited to conservative media. It’s been quite a shock to me to notice this in Australia, particularly because it seems to be a strong bias issue with public broadcasters that I’m usually able to rely on in regard to other news stories. I was unable to deny this when I kept searching for interviews with the returned hostages and I couldn’t find *any* on BBC, or our ABC, or on any of the progressive media. If it was there it was entirely drowned out by regurgitating UN talking points. I think some serious scientific study needs to be put into trending topics and media narratives over the last three months. It’s absurd that after hundreds of people are violently abducted in a terrorist attack (which also involved the deaths of more than a thousand people) and we know many were badly injured; when some of the hostages are returned and well enough to be interviewed, and able to tell us of their horrendous time imprisoned in tunnels and darkened rooms in family homes, no progressive media outlet wants to interview them. People should definitely share this video, and then follow it up with for eg. this interview with Adina Moshe (74) who saw her husband murdered and was then held hostage in a tunnel for a month kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sNZnnM5l0cemlIU.html It makes me cross as hell that people think they have the right to judge what Israel does to try to get the hostages back and also to ensure that Hamas is completely defanged and the population deradicalised. This is a shitty time for Israelis, and for Jewish people worldwide. For the rest of us it’s the time to learn about the things we didn’t know. Operation Solomon is a mandatory research project for anyone who thinks that Zionism is racism. When you learn what that was it is impossible to ignore the real motive of Zionism.

My personal experience during the Yom Kippur War was that over 100 ulpanistim and volunteers aged 18 to 25 on the kibbutz where I was living, refused to leave and they stayed to do the work that would have been done by the kibbutz members that were called to war. Plane loads of volunteers from around the World followed to do the same at kibbutzim through out the country. Now in their 60s and 70s they have returned to pick the crops at the farms and kibbutzim along the Gaza border. Organizations like Volunteers For Israel which was started during the war with Lebanon to fill the void created by soldiers leaving to fight are experiencing an upsurge in applications.

Must be even more frightening in Gaza, where there is no dome and the rockets get fired into there area.

It really just confirmed all the issues Tal raised, although sadly didn't seem to appreciate where Tal's video had been coming from. Of course I can't speak for Tal, but I know Tal, others and myself all share a love for Ido and have no desire to harm him or cause him pain. On the contrary, many of us love him and have the greatest respect for him, it pains us to say anything even and especially to see him in his current state. What more can be said though?! All I hope is that one day he will finally receive appropriate help and care and will find himself in a better place.

When an individual has all but lost rationality how does one discuss/converse/hash out?!? I've stayed silent for a long time thinking maybe I was wrong or maybe my assessment of the Salukie wasn't seeing the "full picture". But it's become incredibly clear now that sadly the Salukie's not at all in a good space. And I say that with the greatest love. I'm still subscribed, I still like content at times to try and help him keep his chanel, but it's increasingly hard! The sad part is seeing so many inside Israel, and even abroad, having their hearts and minds ripped apart by the trauma of the oast few months, including the reactions of many in the west/around the world. It's so isolating to not only have friend/family experience the trauma of 710 and the subsequent war, but to then also be "attacked" wherever one goes as being "baby killers" or "colonialists" etc etc. It's vile. It's gaslighting. And it's enough to break and crack anyone, especially those who already have childhood traumas and issues within their trust bonds. As a nation we truly have to stay strong and united. We have to buy strangers a hot chocolate or give a hug. Sit and spend time together, share Shabbat with strangers and do all we can to somehow survive the tsunami of poor mental health that is fast approaching. We need to get preventive mental health help to as many as possible and as quickly as possible. We haven't had our final war and already our greatest enemy is within and trying to destroy us. We have to fight hard against disunity and turn to our roots and above all, HaShem, daily. Only then will we be able to survive what's coming.

Your intention might be good- but your solution is not. a 1 state solution means a Palestinian state with a Jewish minority, Israel will never agree to that, just like you wouldn't agree to give away your country to Jews and live as a minority among them. A 2 state solution is the only solution, the problem is that the Palestinian leadership has rejected it every single time it was offered to them.

Those who live in Israel are 100% Israeli with full rights. If we had a partner, we would have long ago gotten rid of the territories. We tried in Gaza to unilaterally allow them a state. they destroyed the agricultural infrastructure and rocketed us from there rather than building a state..

@@sunshine6522 While I understand the Jewish desire to secure a state that is ruled by Jews and demographically secure (majority Jewish), it seems the fundamental problem stems from this concept. It is naturally divisive to insist on a Jewish sovereignty/majority in a place where it largely hadn't existed for many centuries. Heck, today many Isarelis would probably find it unreasonable to give away Tel Aviv as an Arab-ruled, insistently Arab-majority territory. Understandably, the non-Jewish population wasn't fully receptive to the idea. Maybe everyone can fully integrate one day with autonomous zones to appease the desire to self-govern. I like Tal's idea about all of the region's local communities being a piece of Am Israel. But, I'm only a curious observer.

@@tyrone2127 The existence of Israel shouldn't be any more divisive than the existence of Canada, or any of the other countries that were established on stolen native land. Israel already exists, to expect Israel to stop existing and become a Palestinian state with a Jewish minority- is completely unrealistic. It won't happen, ever. Palestinians already have civilian Autonomy, the way forward is to build on it, to expand the Autonomy into something that resembles an independent state.

It seems like you haven't yet visited the West Bank. the people living there have it better than the entire surrounding region, with higher wages and better standard of living, thanks to Israel.
