This is one of those songs that take me back to the best parts of my childhood. I was eight years old. It's summer. My mom gets us all (9 of us) up early and feeds us breakfast. She then takes the whole family to the berry fields (usually raspberry) and we pick enough berries for food and gas money to go swimming (usually South Prairie creek) for the rest of the day. We would do this almost daily. These are my fondest memories of growing up. Just being with my Mommy and my brothers and sisters. P.S. I always ate more berries than I picked. Rest in Paradise, Mommy. You are missed every day. I love you.

I was a teenager when this song came out in the 70's. At the time, I didn't listen to soft rock music, strictly R&B. But every now and then, a song would come out that I couldn't stop listening to, and this was one of those songs. Along with "Dirty Low Down" by Boz Skaz. I lost my mom's in the early 70's and everything in my life was hypersensitive. I'll never forget the music or the times.

That was summer of 1975. I was 8 years old, a huge music fan, and listened to the radio all the time. This was huge. We lived on a lake and had a beach frontage. My sister was a 16 yr old, and as such had 16 yr old friends, who to me were grown women. I didn't much like girls then, but it was the first time one struck me in the heart, and her name was Gail. She and all of the rest of them would lay out and tan on the beach, and I fell head over heels in love with Gail, and this was the song. :) My sister used to tease me about it all the time and she told Gail, which embarrassed me to no end..... but she told me I was very sweet and she wished more guys were like me. It changed my life. Thank you Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds. What brought me here was being in a coffee shop the other day and hearing "Don't Pull Your Love Out On Me".

The memories of this era bring me BOTH happiness and sorrow. I can play this song over and over again because mom and I would sing it on our porch swing. However, in 78 mom was taken from me and changed my life forever. Whenever, I think of mom I try to remember the happiness and I am thankful for the memories we made together. This song is still going strong in 2023 because it is safely kept in my ♥.
