If you look at the front im not sure if its from being loaded into the machine, but it seems it was in a pretty wicked crash, the front end is crushed in about 2 feet.

For a car shredder, they need a hammermill and a downstream system which is capable of processing several cars a minute.

Reminds me of an African Python, swallowing its prey whole with one leg or this case axle sticking out, the last thing to go.

the car had the fuel tank on it. they were lucky it did not explode and do some serious damage or kill someone. Having hauled junk cars, the shredders i hauled to would not take anything that had a gas tank on,and there were penalties for tires too. They did not like the equipment damaged by exploding or buring fduel

Instead of investing millions in machines such as where they would do better to invest as for local and equip people to work to dismantle all these cars to save the windows and reusable components for relist, there is a large market for it. For unrecoverable frame with a good torch any employee cut it into 4 pieces on quickly to send it to melt and remake steel. In addition some of the engines may be saved for cars who need it, I have a hard time finding an almost new engine for my golf gli.
