You're not wrong, unfortunately there are people out there who sometimes forget that and like to make sure you know. I generally fall somewhere in the middle, I like to make my kits as accurately as possible, but often times will sacrifice accuracy for artistry. However, in this case, it was just poor research on my part, still I'm happy with the results. thanks for watching!

@@HammerheadModelMaking there is nothing wrong with historical accuracy and some people just have to put their two cents into it as far as research as long as I have the right division company and army in the correct TOA that's good enough for me of course having good books and letters from the time. Sure thing, most of the tools and materials in this video are ones that I would use often on a diorama, but at the base level, you'll need something to build up the diorama on, in this case I used a block of Styrofoam, but it would be a piece of wood, a picture frame, any hard surface really. Depending on the type of terrain you'd want to do, you may need some sort of plaster and dirt/sand/gravel. As for vegetation, that's going to be a little more difficult, as it will be very specific on where your diorama takes place, but there are websites out there dedicated to selling vegetation in various scales. I would say those would be the basic materials.

Thank you, yeah, stowage is really one of those areas of modelling where I get really picky how it looks. I'm not a fan of the look of items just random stuck to the side of a tank, like they are magnets, so I really try hard to make sure it's obvious how a piece a stowage is attached to the vehicle.

Honestly, I hadn't really considered painting the tall grass, I had picked out the twin specifically because I liked the color, but perhaps it could add a better sense of depth if I did.

Thank you. I am using an Iwata Eclipse with a .5 nozzle. I don't normally use a .2 nozzle, but I understand the paint needs to be really thin to flow correctly.

Thanks for watching, I can imagine that it would be difficult to find good figures in 72nd scale. It can be difficult in 35th scale, and that's a common scale for that type of figure. Have you looked into 3d printing? If you have access to a 3D printer, cgtrader.com has some amazing files for German WW2 soldiers in a variety of poses. I've already purchased a few myself for some up coming projects. Just a thought. Cheers to the UK! Brett

@@Swanston33 I'll tell you, I'm in the middle of printing out some new tracks for a Panther I've been working on. My cat, ate the original tracks, not just took a little bite, I'm talking bit into every single track link, and destroyed a good portion of them! I happened upon a free STL for Panther tracks, so I test printed a few links. No changes or anything, right off the printer it dropped right onto the drive sprocket and fit perfectly. Now, I'm just taking my time printing out about 30 links at a time, soon I'll have fully articulated tracks with more detail than the originals. In my opinion, a 3d Printer is well worth the price!

@@HammerheadModelMaking Oh wow, that brings a new direction to "the dog ate my homework" the cat ate my plastic model kit haha. My cat would definitely do the same after throwing it off the table of course. my black labrador would then probably sniff it and work out it isn't edible and just lay on it as he sleeps on anything! I've been eyeing up 3d printers for a while and definitely decided with a resin 3d printer as they seem leaps and bounds better for detail than using filament printer, especially in the scale I usually try to work in. When I was a kid I always made 1/35 scale models. I really enjoy making Dioramas and 1/35 scale dioramas do take up a fair bit of space. Can I ask what 3d printer did you end up going for in the end? I've been looking at reviews of the Elegoo Mars 2 pro

@@Swanston33 Sure thing, I have the AnyCubic Photon M3. I managed to snag it on sale on Amazon, but even still, I think it's good for it's price. I got it mainly because it has a slightly larger build area than some of the others in the same price range. That was important to me, but the quality is extremely high! Very happy with it. I do hear good things about the Elegoo Mars, so I believe that would be a viable choice as well.

@@HammerheadModelMaking Yes the primal task of the Panzer lll's within the 13th Heavy Tiger l company. Was for the Light platoon,to reconnaissance ahead of the advance, protect the flank of the Tiger's and knock out any Anti-Tank Gun's. The Light Platoon was with the SS Panzer Schwere 13th Kompanie LSSAH also during the Battle of Kharkov Feb-Mar 43 when the unit was known as the SS Panzer schwere 4th Kompanie LSSAH. In which SS Untersturmfuhrer Michael Wittmann was the platoon commander of the Panzer lll ausf J's.....in mount "4L1". The SS Panzer Schwere 4th Kompanie LSSAH was renamed the 13th Kompanie in May 1943..... sadly did away with it's Panzer lll's after transferring to Italy.....post the Battle of Kursk.....the unit becoming a full complement of 27 Tiger l tank's of five Tiger's in each of the 5 platoon's of the 13th Kompanie LSSAH. new resupplying starting in August 1943.

@@JarlVikingr Thanks man, I appreciate the additional context and information, the Battle of Kursk is an area I don't have a lot of experience with, so this is informative.

I used the Tamiya Panzer 3 and Dragon Wounded German Infantry.

Well, its going to largely depend on where you live and what you have access to, but the bare minimum by way of tools are the following: 1. Hobby Knife (Xacto brand works well) 2. Plastic cement (I recommend Tamiya Thin Cement if you can get it) 3. A model kit (obviously) I recommend starting with something inexpensive. Airfix has kits that are perfect for starting out. Their 1:72 scale spitfire or mustang are both cheap good kits. Alternatively, you can get some 1:72 scale Tamiya kits for just a little more, and are great kits. 4. Paint brushes, I recommend getting a small variety pack that comes with 5-10 brushes of different sizes/types 5. Paint. There are a huge range of paints you can choose from, I would stick with acrylic paints, like Vallejo paints, since they are pretty easy to work with, brush on nicely, and clean up with water. Thats really all you need to get started. Build a few kits, see if you like it. If you do, you can start adding more complex tools and techniques to your tool belt. Remember to just have fun with it, that might seem obvious, but the temptation to compare yourself with what you see on youtube can be difficult for some one new to the hobby who doesn't like the results they get at the beginning. Like many other hobbies, it take time and practice to become proficient. Most of all, don't give up if you aren't happy with the way your first model turns out. Trust me, we've all been there. Each kit you build will see an improvement over the last. Just keep at it. Brett
