Thanks John, I really appreciate it. If I remember correctly this video (and audio) was filmed on a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition. The camera system is always evolving. My current kit, which I'm sure will change soon, is a Sony CX440, GoPro Hero 5 Session, Galaxy Note 5, DJI Osmo, and a DJI Mavic. I'd like to get my hands on a proper camera like a GH5 but those don't come cheap. Thanks for the sub, and if you're from the US, enjoy the holiday weekend. Happy Trails!

I am so sorry I completely missed this comment. I usually try to reply as soon as I see a message but somehow I missed yours. Thankfully my wife caught my mistake last night so here I am. You can find the map for the Namahkanta region along with regulations and other info on the State of Maine site at www.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/doc/parksearch/details.pl?park_id=60. On my website (www.fathergoat.com) you can check the GPS tracks from my trip. More importantly, I have posted a GPS track from Kokadjo to the trail head. This last 15 miles or so will take a couple hours to traverse as it's pretty dicey logging / camp roads. Nothing too rough but you are limited to 5-10mph in most spots. It is a pretty crazy network of roads out that way and it can easily become disorienting. To get out to the lake just follow the signs for Namahkanta Lake Camps. They will be small white signs with "NLC" printed in black. These signs will get you out to the lake. Head south at the lake to hike Turtle Ridge and head north at the lake to hit the AT intersection.

Gorgeous area down that way, though, I'm not terribly familiar with the trails in and about Harpswell. If you travel for 2 hours northwest you can get to the mountains in Newry (Grafton Notch State park and the Appalachian Trail, many others). 2 hours north and you get to the mountains around Byron (Mt Blue State Park, Tumbledown Mountain, many others).
