Strengthening your hamstrings will not tighten your hamstrings (except during a muscle soreness recovery phase), and can be extremely useful if you've overstretched your hamstrings for years. Or if they feel tight, no matter how much you stretch.
Props to have on hand
- Heavier dumbbells (Ariele uses 2 12 pounds)
- Small dumbbell or weight or yoga block (Ariele uses a 3 pound weight)
- Chair
- Dense blanket or bolster
