Hand-painting a small scene in Blender: Making of Submerged Era (Based on "Beneath Lilies")

I was supposed to share this "kind of behind the scene" video of Submerged era long long ago! But this and that happened and lots of time passed by. Still here is a voice narrated video on this project. I no longer have all of the recordings available (some parts were missed in recording process). But I tried to explain everything there was to of this project.
I hope you won't be too irritated by any mistakes I made and give your kind feedbacks :D

I am glad you found it helpful in any way! Glad you liked it! I was trying similar idea of beginning a painting. Starting from simple stuff and composition and then driving into details when the time is right :D

That's really beautiful, thanks for sharing. Do you mind me asking why do you unwrap if you paint straight in the texture?

Thank you! Also thanks for asking about it. The texturing process depend heavily on good uv mapping. I guess you confused handpainting texture with 3d vertex painting where you don't need uv. But as long as it is a texture you want to project on 3d models u need to uv map the 3d model.

love your works man, thanks for showing the process, I have one question tho, how did you make yhe effect on skeychfab that masks the ground and makes the water transparent? I love it, is a special effect?

Thank you so much! I explained the masking method at 22:00 I guess I was too brief! So I just took a plane and with erase alpha mode in texture painting I erased the center part and it had the same color as the world/sky which makes the masking effect. Also added a box of same color in the bottom to cover up everything in the bottom. You can get the file from sketchfab too if you wish to inspect how it works

What does AO mean (said at 5 min ark)?

AO means ambient occlusion. Couldn't point it out though😬

Hello i just purchased your brushes and i wanted to know are they compatible with 3.4 because i dont see the thumbnails of the brushes when im in Texture Paint mode

Thank you!! I created most of them in version 3.3. Usually old stuffs works in new versions. But I will look into it and release a version for 3.4. I think 3.4 was released very recently though. Mightn't be very stable yet.

Hey! I was finally able to recreate the issue (with another pc offcourse). Working on the solutions now. For the time being the previews are attached in a zip file. Thanks for reaching out about it!

@@TripFontain you can do that if you don't mind taking up the trouble of setting up the brush previews on your own. But perhaps if you wait a little I can solve the situation and get back to you soon. I did found out the cause of this issue already.
