I have been working on my swing path this year and have made great improvements in the quality of strike. My miss is the big push or occasionally a hook. This concept at 10:00 has highlighted where I can focus to reduce those misses. Now that my downswing is corrected, focusing on the right arm going past the stance line on the follow through may really help. Thanks.

Great video! For someone who has problems with a push hook (me) to swing MORE left "seems" counterintuitive. If the ball is going too far to the left - it seems like you should swing more to the right. It is fascinating that what makes "sense" as a fix often, in reality, makes the problem worse.
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 2 жыл бұрын
Thats correct... Keep in mind as you swing your club path more left, it helps keep the face less closed to the path The more you swing right the more you need to close the face to path The more you swing left the LESS you need to close the face to path (to get the ball to target) so they go together!

@@CogornoGolf The Law of Opposites. Explains also why slicers (RH) whose ball ends up too far to the right - naturally swing MORE to the left - which exasperates the problem further. Would be a good video for the future. Thanks again!

Good stuff, Eric! You talk about the left arm coming down along the line of the club set at 20 degrees inside the stance line on the down swing. That means your left arm is also following that line on the backswing? I'm working off that assumption when I set up my station in this manner but wanted to make sure that's correct. Thanks!
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 10 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, exactly right! The lead arm is ideally working inward across your chest a good amount...say 20-40° inside the stance line at P3 (lead arm parallel in backswing)👍

Damn... is this why I always tend to hit it close the heel . My hands move too far away from body normally and my swing is more up/down then around my body. So I guess I am doing everything wrong.

Much more repeatable contact and ball flight. Bad hand path can work but you need to practice a lot more and is much more hand eye coordination is required.

Hey Eric. Great video. Question, what moves when? What starts the swing? What moves first? What’s the sequence of moves? Is it side bend? Is it the knees changing flex? What’s the sequence? Do you have a video of the sequence?

So when I’m swinging good my path is pretty zero. Maybe 1-2 degrees either way. But when everything falls apart I shank and hozel hit path gets to much out to in . The other day in a sim I was hitting good then the hozel started . I thought to do this left arm drill on the downswing abs instantly hit the ball in the middle of the face . I’ve always thought my hands got to far away from my body in the downswing . Question though wouldn’t this promote toe strikes ?

Thanks! A few questions popping up relative to positioning the alignment sticks or clubs: 1. Can you tell something about where they start? What would be the distance to your feet? 2. Is this starting position related in any way to pivot point marking? (For instance: Joe Nichols' corners...)

Hey! 1. Anywhere outside of the ball target line would be fine! Here is an example of back station setup: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oK9lh7V6x7zZcY0.html 2. Just anywhere outside of the ball target line for placement and then roughly through or just above shoulders would be good

I have found out if you get the hand path correct everything else will fall in place. Swing plane can’t be accurate if the hands are off, very few teachers even mention “hand path” you always hear about plane. Plane is determined by what the hands do.
