Receiver is one of the positions that I don’t worry too much about a player coming in and making a substantial impact year 1. Not to say he’s going to be Garrett Wilson and be 1000 yard guy from y1 but certainly involved heavily enough in the offence and cementing himself as a staple.

@BJF Debo Had 15 Bench Press reps, Derrick Henry 22 reps. Corley had 27 reps. That is FREAK strength for the NFL. Corley is stronger than the NFL LB's, look at the average Reps for LB's. The YAC ability Will Translate to the NFL simply because he is significantly Stronger than the would be tacklers

We might one day be thanking..Atlanta for not trading out for us. Odunze might just become a ok...wr2. And Corley could end up a probowler..who knows.

Can’t agree with you more. Joe Douglas is a genius at picking wide receivers. Mims and Elijah Moore worked out great. So glad he waited till the 2nd round for those studs. His free agent pick ups have been stellar as well. Giving Corey Davjs a huge contract worked out well. I especially loved bringing in Perrimen as a free agent. lazzard and his 11 million per was brilliant. lwta not forget Cobb too. smh

I don’t Lazard would be in the league if it weren’t for Rodgers, and Adams probably would have been a bust 2 without Rodgers. Morale of the story Rodger makes peoples careers!! I think Corley will be a star simply because of Rodgers.

lol rodgers is saying all the rite stuff. He obviously want Corley to have confidence, but I’m not buying it lol. There were about 12 receivers. i highly doubt he was your first pick.

If he knew we were going OL round 1 and that they were targeting WR from a select group of guys in the 45-75 range, it’s not crazy to think he’s the guy Rodgers wanted. Obviously he didn’t want Corley over MHJ. C’mon now.

I don't think he meant he's the best WR in the class. Think he appreciated his specific skill set

The conversation starting around the mid 2nd WR picks was about three or four names. Watching the draft live provides the necessary context. Watching the coverage the day after provides more: the Jets and Rodgers wanted, and expected to get, Rome Odunze. Those are two very different conversations. 🌈and now you know...

He had more than his share of "wait, that's not a concept" moments. Diva wide receivers are an NFL cliche, but if a guy won't run a clearance route, the shoe fits.

@@TheBuffaloJetFan come on man! We are talking about here, songs?! What’s a “hit”? Very subjective term, my friend. How about “capable #2 wide receiver,” of which he is. We treated Elijah like he was the problem. Imagine Wilson being your starting QB for two seasons and your targets decrease by more than 40% from season to season. We gave Wilson too much rope and we hung ourselves with it.

I loved Corley every since I saw him featured in Steve Smith's pod. Then I started to see his name mentioned in other places. I thought he'd be a 2nd round guy and figured there was no way he'd fall to the Jets in the 3rd. I was thrilled to see JD move up to get him. I think he's a perfect fit and will definitely add a different dimension to the offense.

Malachi Corley 2024 contributions will be limited guys. He is a WR with a RB route tree. Think about that. Let that sink in.

I dont think this Jets roster has a clear answer to fill the slot role without him. Wilson and Williams on the perimeter, Lazard in the slot? Corley makes more sense Lazard will fill in where Wilson and MW need rest.

@@TheBuffaloJetFan I can get under the hood further..... 1. His routes were at an average of 6 yrds or less that is less than Bijan Robinson who is a RB. think about that. 2. His contested catch percentage is 21% 3. His ball tracking is horrible due to him not having balls skills during contact. Lets discuss it.

Yes, but not really. If Corley has Zach Wilson throwing to him this year, you're going to be just as let down by him as you were Lazard.
@jessejordache1869
@jessejordache1869 2 ай бұрын
@@MoMoMyPup10 Lazard's drops were Lazard's drops. Same thing with his unnecessary leaping near the sidelines, attempts to decapitate a pursuer who was nowhere near the receiver, turning a 70+ yard play into a -15, and then doing it again. And again. Watching a Jets game, hearing Alan Lazard's name was more portentous than an opposing edge rusher. No, you don't get to blame Nick Foles, Bobby Turner, or the ghost of Randall Cobb on Zach Wilson either. That's just irrational. (Also, you're being trolled).
