How I installed a new wheel and axle cap on my hand truck.
Note: not shown in the video, I tapped the cap down farther on both sides with the wood after removing the socket.

Absolutely brilliant. Was able to get a pushring on a lawmmower wheel stem with this, without issue, and the best part of all not a single cuss word went with this procedure.. Thanks so much for the genius.

Tried it this way and split every one of the push nuts. It's a 5/8" shaft. Guess they were just bad material

ok i see what your doing where do you find that washer you pounded down? this is vague what size socket..i appreciate any info please

James Piepsney Hi, the washer came with the replacement wheel, it locks down on the axle. The size of the socket is just one that seemed to be the right size. It would actually be better if it was a deeper socket to get it farther down. I hope that helps.

Easier to use shaft collar or hitchpin/cotterpin and you can remove easily next time

Monster The Kid I tried various methods of removing it and finally used a rotozip with a metal cutting wheel, which worked great.

I was able to pry mine off with a flathead screwdriver. Could possibly use a small pry bar?
