Agartala (Tripura), July 15 (ANI): The locals are engaged in crafting bamboo bottles in Tripura’s Agartala. Tripura Rehabilitation Plantation Corporation Limited (TRPC) has arranged training for large number of tribal youth in making bamboo water bottles to fulfil the increasing demand. The process of manufacturing these bottles is organic and bamboo is boiled along with Neem, turmeric and other herbal items. These eco-friendly water bottles are gaining popularity. While speaking to ANI, the In-charge at Bamboo and Cane Development Institute, Avinab Kant said, “Presently, this is a product that has great market and demand. People are willing to buy these bottles as they are eco-friendly.”

If we could use bamboo instead of polyurethane, it would change the world. Bamboo could definitely sustain the harvesting as it is renewable and grows much faster than firs and pines.

The bamboo bottles you are making cannot be categorised as an eco-friendly product because its useless to cut lush green bamboo tress and as well as non economic to cover the copper bottles with bamboos where there is no need of it , copper bottles can be used ordinarily. This product is just an idea of a design using bamboo and nothing else. Its just helps to development and improve the financial condition of tribal industries.

No. It's available in cheaper rates, depending on the material inside, whether steel or copper. Steel variety starts at around 620 including GST. Copper at little higher price

Maybe because bamboo is a renewable source and can be used widely unlike copper or steel….and it can be used as an alternative to plastic bottle Companies can sell water in bamboo bottles but not in copper or steel
