Informative video but I had to press my phone against my ear to hear you...any reason for whispering?

Sorry about that. I'm not whispering. My phone mic just didn't pick up my voice very well. I use a different mic these days and adjust the gain before I upload, but my voice is still hard to mic. I have a really deep voice and my mics all seem to be more sensitive to high pitched sounds. I think you'd notice at least some improvement in my newer videos though. This was only the second video I uploaded to my channel. Thanks for watching and commenting!

My opinion i love BPS knives especially the adventurer. But as far as hatchet i think beaver craft is head an shoulders ahead. I must add im not a fan of hatchets. Never found them useful. I do like tomahawks. Mainly coldsteel because they are easy to customize. I really wanna get the Hudson bay tomahawk. I think it fills in whats lacking from the trailhawk. Sorry went off script. Lol Nice video

Honestly I've questioned the usefulness of the BPS hatchet myself a bit since I posted this video. It's not that it isn't useful, it's just that I feel like I can accomplish almost everything I need the hatchet for with my Adventurer, but at least for me the same can't be said for the hatchet trying to do the work of the Adventurer. For fine work I still find myself missing the Adventurer when I'm using the hatchet. Because of this I will probably carry my Adventurer a lot more often. If I know I am only going a little ways to a camp I will probably take both, but if I will be covering some distance with my pack I will probably leave the hatchets at home. The Beavercraft hatchet is also more functional in a few ways with only a small trade off in size and weight, but it also wouldn't take the place of my Adventurer. Cold Steel does make some decent axes! I have a Trail Boss Axe that I like a lot. Husqvarna also makes a pretty nice hatchet but it's not a tomahawk. I'll probably add some videos on those in the future. I'm not familiar with the Hudson Bay tomahawk but I will check it out. Thank you for watching and thanks for your comment!

The more I use these hatchets, the more I agree that the Beavercraft is head and shoulders ahead. The biggest issue for me is that between the shorter overall length and full tang construction of the BPS hatchet, it doesn't have enough weight in the head. It does have that nice finger groove for choking up on the handle for finer work, but when it comes to more typical axe functions, I find the Beavercraft to be far more useful. I went and harvested fatwood a couple days ago with a saw and the BPS hatchet, then again yesterday with the same saw and the Beavercraft hatchet and it was indeed head and shoulders ahead. I will do a follow-up video on these in the future letting people know how they have worked out long term. I still like the BPS hatchet, but the Beavercraft hatchet has outperformed it so far for my needs.
