I enjoy watching your family transition from America to Joburg. I myself live in Florida (Miami to be exact). My heart and my gut tells me that Joburg is where i belong, despite never visiting there. Me and my wife plan to visit next year with the hopes of convincing her to move there after retirement in about 4 years. Wish me well🤞🏾

Florida is where we lived. Joburg is in your heart for a reason. I'm sure after visiting, your wife won't need ANY convincing because it will be planted in her heart as well. ☺️

Please please research heavily about SA and Joburg. Don't move without knowing exactly what to expect. Watch SA travel videos and all that. I'd recommend visiting before deciding to move. Joburg is not the only cool place to move to even though I live here. Visit 3 of SA biggest cities to make a proper decision. One thing I will say is that South Africa, like the US, is very car dependent so that's one thing you'll find very similar to the US.

@@Magic_KayyyDon't just visit the three cities, South Africa is twice the size of France and 8 times bigger than England. It's really strange when we reduce it to 3 cities. Visit Mpumalanga, visit the Southern Cape (Knysna, Plett, Jeffrey's Bay, Mossel Bay), visit Paarl and Stellenbosch, visit Pretoria, visit Port Elizabeth, Visit East London, visit Bloemfontein, go to Port Alfred and Port Edward. The 3 cities are bigger and more Cosmopolitan but other cities and towns in SA offer the same amenities at a far cheaper, calmer , safer and cleaner lifestyle. The country is diverse and offers a great variety of lifestyle options and interactions. So research and look at these places ALL of them are googleable.

Please teach them to look at the designed cameras fitted on different spots on all rides/most. You can purchase a picture after your ride, they are usually cool if you look into the cameras. My friends I did it all the time. Why so many people out? We South Africans love going out with family, friends, etc and Gold Reef has been a Go-to place for many generations. School excursions, Work outings (food, drinks, known has team building. etc), plus next to the Theme Park we have a big casino there, inside there is a popular Buffet restaurant and many other things to do. All the above are a favorite go-to places and many more in the area.

I think is still better, public holidays it gets packed for real. Next time, you come back to Gold Reef City please avoid “Tower of Terror ride” 😅 is a short ride but too scary 😦.

Next time go early, anytime after 12pm its late. And try go on the ride you want to try the most( Anaconda, joburg express and the like's) The water rides do them last as you get wet.

I am a bit nervous about it. I hear it gets pretty cold, which we're not used to coming from Florida. I was told that it's tolerable by someone who hates the cold. That gave me a little comfort, but I'm still concerned. 😒
