Is this worth 2k? I dont think so, these were under $1000 a couple years ago, and they were barely worth it then.

One of deck supports broke on my 2012 Craftsman. I looked at new mowers, then a new deck, then a reasonably priced hobby welder. I now have a welder and a deck with an ugly repair.

I found one on the curb for scrap..it was free ..all it needed was a clean carb..and a plug..and it ran and works fine. I sold for $800.00

Still using my 30y/o craftsman. Still cuts 2 acres. Original belts until last year. I just keep fixin' her whenever something goes wrong. It's not hard.

@@scottyellis3442 Not really. Lowes only sells Craftsman mowers made by MTD. Husqvarna is made by Husqvarna, John Deere is made by John Deere. Depot sells Cub and Troy Bilt, both MTD, and John Deere

⁠John Deere at big box stores are not made by Deere. They are MTD. Can only get a real Deere at a dealer. And they all have problems too. That’s the way of the industry now a days.

@kittyztigerz MTD was bought by Stanley/Black and Decker, which owns the Craftsman brand. Craftsman under sears previously sourced mostly from Husqvarna (Roper, AYP), and Murray Ohio.

@@mrbubetube What specific policy of the current admin caused this? I can tell you that the tariff war started by the last admin is a direct cause of why a lot of consumer stuff has gone up in price. The plastics, wheels, engines all the soft parts are all made overseas. They have been for decades. I remember all the stuff in Harbor Freight going up during the last admins tantrum with china, and this was after the govt had to bail out all the farmers due to his insane policies. Atleast you are finally starting to admit the election WASNT stolen, Fox News had to admit to this in court just the other day!

Except your pony or bronco has an aluminum transmission housing, instead of plastic and it came with Carlisle turf saver tires that could last 20 years, instead of one quarter ply Chinese rubber.

I would buy a commercial machine , before buying one from lowes or Home Depot. People in our neighborhood were buying these type of mowers and we’re replacing about every 2.5 to 3 years. We also you can go to auction , one of the neighbors went to auction bought a 10 year turf tiger and has used it for almost 9 years with the same engine. And my Scag is going on 15 years

It's 2024. the Cheapest tractor I found was the Murray at Home Depot for $1,800. The problem with that one is that it's not made by Murray. it's made by Daye, and you can't find parts for it. It will be an lawn ornament as soon as it breaks.. You are still looking at 2K for a new one or more.. If you want a Zero turn, you are looking much higher. If you want electric, it's even higher.. I ended up going with the Cub Cadet LT42.. Happy with it so far, but I've only used it's twice..

I have a JD 332 that has almost 4000 hours on it that has been through two sets of V tread tires and two sets of turf tires a starter an alternator. Best lawn and garden tractor ever. I would gladly spend a couple thousand keeping that thing running.

I was wanting a new zero turn with a Kawasaki engine but they were asking $7,000 plus taxes. So I found a 2022 John Deere m530r 54” zero turn with the Kawasaki engine with only 29 hours and a full 5 yr or 500 hours warranty on Facebook marketplace. They asked for $5,000 I talked them down to $3,500 plus free delivery. This model comes with the safety bar, led lights, top tier seat. All paid for no payments saved my credit and money 💯.

Yesterday I bought a lawnmower from these for $75 they sold it to me because I couldn't walk and all I had to do was pull a screw on the back of the machine that is used when you push the machine off the transmission and that ankle was in walking mode off stream and now i switch it to on stream mode and now i'm happier because i saved almost 2000 bucks

I bought the T100 Craftman lawnmower and I would buy it again. It's 18hp and has 7 forward gears. 5 different cutting heights and you ride it, not pushing it. And I didn't pay 2 grand, Lowes has better price here in Virginia.

Same thing every few years. Housing boom, housing crash, housing lul, housing boom. Every time Boxstores bank on Banks. Load people down with "entire home furnishings" on one single card. The $2000 mower is unloaded onto many thinking they are gonna mow their 3 acres for the remainder of their lives with this 42".... 3 years later they are back upgrading everything they fit into their little $10,000 home furnishing budget. For $30,000...... 15 years later they'll snag their equity loan as well...

You can't buy hardly anything at lowes for an affordable price. I was in there a couple months ago looking for a Flap disk for grinder and some other stuff. The Flap disks were $20 a piece. Went to harbor freight and bought 3 in a pack for $6 or $8.

Litterally man up in Canada here Canadian tire has a base model toro motor exactly the same as in the video on for 2500$ and I went out and bought a 2007 MTD yard machine that runs great for 250$. Now granted it needed new spindles but I then bought them for 75$ a piece so all in I'm 400$ into this machine plus the gas and the oil change I did. Litterally still like 5 times cheaper than buying a new one

My neighbor moved in a few years after I got here, purchased a hustler mower since then he has gone threw 4 mowers and finally just yesterday he purchased a hustler 60’ cut raptor mower , lol am still mowing with my 19 year old hustler. More up front but hey it’s still mowing. It’s either a scagg or a hustler for me cost of owner ship in 19 years $15 dollars a month. My neighbor spent 9k on 4 mowers till he dropped 10k on his bad boy raptor hustler just a beast of a mower

Biggest issue I've had with used riding mowers for sale is that they may be half the price, but then they also have 500+ hours on them and signs of rust damage/Rebuilt engine, etc.

Wow I just bought my first riding mower, I was unaware of the recent price increases. I actually originally bought a craftsmans from Lowe's but it wouldnt start (probably dead battery)... I returned it and got a John Deere that was on sale for $100 more. Thought I got a good deal but now you kind of destroyed my thinking on that 😀. I might return the John Deere too. I think I need a zero turn mower anyway. You live and learn.

I'm 51 and my first car was a 1965 mustang, 6cyl and floor shift auto, that I bought in 1987, used, in great running order, for $175 bucks no joke! The second car, a1969 Super Sport Chevelle 396 4speed was $1200. 2 Grand for a cookie cutter lawn mower!? Hell nah!

Nice I'm 59 my mother had a 72 maverick so I feel for you I lost my license in it for racing lol then I bought a 70 chevelle 350 4 speed for 500$ in 1979. My daily right now is a 95 caprice 9c1 I bought for 1200$ in 2013 but did work to it and it ready for another more work

I paid $1200 for a 2 year old single cylinder (Kolher) ‘green mower’ 25 years ago . It has mowed 1 acre once or twice a week since then. Two sets of blades and one idler pulley later and it’s still running and looking good. To replace that model today is over $5000.

I got a 90s MTD 18hp V-twin hydrostatic garden tractor for $200 with stock 27in. rear tires, and front and rear PTO. It's a micro tractor actually. MTD owns half the market on mowers now.

I bought the craftsman t110 and after 10 hours of use, the governor broke which caused the aluminum counterweight links to shatter. I removed the engine and fixed it myself

I’m still using my 1991 toro wheel horse 15-44 HXL! Wouldn’t think of buying a new mower. I feel like they really don’t make ‘em like they used too. The cub cadets new body style is trying to imitate a new gmc pickup lol but I saw one this morning in my neighbors yard brand new being picked up buy a small engine shop 😅

I got a troy bilt bronco 42 auto, 2016 or 17 i paid $1500 for the tractor, bagger, mulch kit, extra blades and a pull behind card. That same exact mower is $2300 at my local lowes without any extras. Their little 30 inch single blade ride on id 2 grand now. It was $800 when i bought mine. I almost bought it too the dame day.

Dad's got one of the last John deere lawn tractors that still has a John deer engine in it, oil is still perfect, and we don't know how. We change it every year and it never changes colour and when we check with the scope it is a brand new look when you get inside

I bought a used snapper mower for 500. It was pretty good except for the blade engagement and the shifter on the left side...mowed the lawn once and sold the mower... I'll never buy one with a shifter on the left again.
