If I sent a heartfelt text to Hannah and she responded with a picture of Chuck Norris... it would be the singularly most perfect text response I had ever received.

I'm not much for comedy because, yes, I can find it crass or I'm just not getting the jokes. But I found her show relatable with a strong message and loved it! I wish I had found out about her sooner and I am from Adelaide where the Fringe is on every year. I have noticed though that there are a few too many comments about her gender. Why are people so hung up on whether she's a male or female? Or if she looks more masculine than your average female? Does it matter? Watch her show. Think about what she's trying to say and talk about it. Here's hoping for some awareness and acceptance of people's differences and to focus on the similarities instead.

she didn't school anyone, she has a different form of comedy but tabloids make her out to be this messiah breaking down the world of comedy. She is merely another talent in a vast sea of talent, it's actually unfortunate that the media outlets are focusing on her in such a manner because we all know they will eventually turn on her. That is how they stay in business, by manipulating our entertainment into something that it is not. She is a comedian, nothing more, nothing less.

To The Max The only people I've ever seen having to resort to dehumanizing others by calling them snowflakes are the most snowflake weaklings in the universe. You're so weak you can't even stand the thought of anyone out there being different than you and seeing them as your equal, with equal value to you. It's pathetic, tragic, and makes me very sad for you.

Melbourne is actually meant to be said that way, but us Aussies don’t want to drag a word out we changed it to Melbern. And sometimes we even drop the R. Melben lol
@MM-dq2pi
@MM-dq2pi 5 жыл бұрын
It's not that we don't want to drag the word out, it's because our accent is non-rhotic, which means the /r/ sound does not appear at the end of a syllable or immediately before a consonant Thus, you get the phonetic spelling of Melbourne as /ˈmɛlbn̩/

Sara Dickson I mean, it’s really not a big deal, but just for arguments sake, if he tried he could pronounce it correctly, I have heard Americans say it right (mel-bun) before ;)
@lynandrews1033
@lynandrews1033 5 жыл бұрын
Actually more like Melben or most Aussies pronounce Melbourne without any vowel between the b and the n. Like Melbn. No one in Australia says Melborn or Melborrrrrn like the Americans. We don’t really pronounce the R’s in many things. Like Cairns is just Cans but more like a z at the end. Canz :)
@MM-dq2pi
@MM-dq2pi 5 жыл бұрын
The point is, he should pronounce it the way it with the correct pronunciation for that city. I was surprised he wasn't corrected, and that he didn't already know. And not all American accents are rhotic.
