For a little context with Rachel's expression I believe this is the scene where Mercedes is showing Rachel that she's not the only one who can do a power ballad solo, and Rachel finally gets her head out of her ass and she sees how talented Mercedes truly is.

It'd be lovely if you reacted to Amber singing this song at the Olivier Awards, I was blown away by this performance even more than by the Glee version. I think it shows her vocal progress quite well. Amber sang it on the Glee set live and was exhausted by the end of the song, while years later she sang it after being nominated for her role in Dreamgirls and having been singing her heart out 8 times a week. She's an excellent vocalist.

Finally!!!! I was waiting for it! Mercedes was so underrated on Glee and Amber Riley is a faboulous, singer. I really hope you will react to more of her songs! Also this is on season one and her voice was already amazing but the more the seasons go on the more her voice gets even better if possible. She is truly a jewel and between the women she is definitely the one who has the whole package considering her huge voice range. I think only Alex Newell for me might be around the same level, I mean from the singing POV. BTW, THIS WAS LIVE so...yeah. Just for you to know. :D

I’ve always loved Amber’s rendition of this song, but I’m kinda floored by what you said about mixing the head and throat voices. I’ve had 3 vocal teachers throughout my teenage and college years, but never heard anything about mixing the voices. I used to think the crack in my vocal range was here to stay, but now I think I just had bad teachers. I guess I’m trying to say thank you for providing that explanation for why vocal cracks happen and that you can smooth them out.

She performed this role on the West End in Dreamgirls . I’m sad I didn’t get to see her but her understudy was amazing. This song come at the end of the first act and it’s the only time I’ve ever seen a standing ovation before the end of a show!

My favourite version of "And I am telling you" is sung by Titus Burgess for Broadway Backwards. The emotion and the vulnerability he brings to the song as well as his incredible voice make for such a powerful song. Gives me goosebumps every time

YESSS GLEEEE!!! I'd love to see you react to a Kurt solo (I think you'd love Not The Boy Next Door, it's easily his best solo showcasing a large amount of his range)!! He's a countertenor and I feel like that turns alot of people away from reacting to his songs because it's such a rare voice type. But he's SO talented and his range is INSANE!!

If there is one singer on Glee who can match Queen Amber, it's Jake Zyrus. He only played a guest role (he played a girl character), but he had, I think, three solos. "Listen" is probably my favorite. You should totally react to it. He's also covered "And I Am Telling You" on TV when he was like 12, and did so FLAWLESSLY. Definitely up there with Amber, in my opinion - though I'm by no means a professional.

I feel like Alex Newell is a decent match now but his technique wasn't very good at the time that he was on the show Also yes Jake is incredible. I'm pretty sure he's improved his technique a lot since his transition too

Fun fact: the backing track wasn’t working on set that day for them to film so she sang live on set for them to dub the track over later so the whole cast’s reactions were 100% genuine to her powerhouse voice 😍 I wish they had left the original audio of her singing it live on the set but it’s still breathtaking

Amber was great. Alex Newell sang it in an audition on The Glee Project, too. Sarah Ikumu sang it in an audition on Britain's Got Talent and got a golden buzzer and standing ovation.

What I love is not only was this song sung live, but the fact that the producers knew they couldn't top Amber Riley's voice with heavy autotune (like they've done so many times with different cast members in the past) just goes to show the strength in her voice and how much her raw vocals really hold their own

I don't know how I haven't commented on this video before, but holy Christmas ham, she's SO GOOD. I freaking love Amber Riley with all my heart, she is just- UGHHh omg The little squeals I'm trying not to do because we're running a play right now is taking so much self control. I love her so much, she's brilliant.

I really hope you react to Jennifer Hudson's version of this song is simply amazing. I just heard it once in "Dreamgirls" and it became one of the best songs, specially interpretations I've ever heard. It made cry madly bad, It was so emotional. Jennifer is such an amazing singer and one of the best vocals of this generation for me and I'll love if you could react to her
