Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. John 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT.

@Gene Connor care to elaborate on that? In a profession where words, actions and emotions are paramount, the eyes don’t get paid as much attention as those other three traits. So what was wrong with my explanation, or indeed that word? It just seems like you have a personal hatred of that word
@frasergibson57632 жыл бұрын
@Gene Connor a lot of emotion can be conveyed in eyes. If somebody is smiling for example, you can tell from their eyes if they are truly happy or not. What I meant by “underrated”, is that emotions conveyed in the eyes can be often be overlooked by other emotions expressed by facial expressions. Your disagreement with my comment seems to come from a personal hatred of the word “underrated” which has no basis to the overall point of the comment
@solidghost13372 жыл бұрын
@@frasergibson5763 idk he was a bit harsh but I kind of agree with him. Like havent you heard in a movie something like "he had dead eyes" or " his smile didn't reach his eyes"? Those phrases exist because it's well known that emotion is shown in the eyes. Even the phrase "the eyes are the window to the soul" shows this, the phrase literally means that even if the rest of your face doesn't show it, your eyes will show how you really feel. It's a pretty well known phenomenon that a lot of emotion comes from the eyes, I really don't think it's overlooked at all. I think this may be just you finding too much importance in your own observation.

SJMJ91 I wish this whole scene from Chilton doing the ' turn key' line with Starling, perfect comeback from her, but still stop just before B b's scene with Katherine. The quid pro quo doesn't seem like a simple mind game to him imo. Some family members have even said He considered he a friend and did truly care about her. Why do you guys think he taunted Miggs to death? I also heard he/ Lecter doesn't like rudeness, doesn't mind kids company. And none of his victims in Hannibal were exactly innocent. Remember all this anyone?
@therevolvingmonk2 жыл бұрын
That sequence is a masterpiece within a masterpiece. Demme uses one of my favorite techniques with the switch to the close-up of Chilton. By making that switch, he engages the viewer's imagination to fill in the blank of what Lecter's expression would have looked like as his voice slightly trembles towards the end as he delivers the line about Buffalo Bill's "terrifying" pathology. There's a deleted scene where Lecter is shown delivering those lines and he's got tears in his eyes. That would have been very out of place with Lecter so instead of being obvious about it, Demme goes to the close up of Chilton listening in and Lecter's lines become a voiceover. One of the best things a great movie does is leave out little bits and pieces at the right time to engage the viewer's imagination. It makes what you're watching so much more personal. Another great example of it is in There Will Be Blood after Daniel falls down the mineshaft then has to climb out and get to town. The whole thing isn't shown but you picture Daniel in agony, slowly hobbling into town using a stick as a crutch.

Yet unlike Katniss, she is willing to use her vulnerability as a kind of weapon when dealing with Lecter - she lets him get closer than was safe, so she could save others - or even in dealing with Jack Crawford. @@gsofficial I'd agree with that. My point to loubabell was he already believed he was a transsexual. Their Lector quote continues "... But he thinks he is. He tries to be. He's tried to be a lot of things, I expect". Lector had met 'Billy'. Not being a transsexual as I assume would have been classified in The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the time means he doesn't display typical transsexual modes of behaviour. He's a lost soul trying on different suits of identity, hoping for happiness & learning who he is. Admittedly it's very light on the subject, but my reading tells me transsexuals can be very unhappy with who they are. This would certainly have applied to some when the book was written in 1989. I like that scene when Lecter hands Clarice the case file and he briefly strokes his finger over hers before Chilton and his idiots haul Clarice away.

Moths usually symbolize a vulnerable, brainless insect, making its way towards what it perceives as light. Moths use the moon to navigate during the night, but a light bulb ultimately kills them. The moth keeps running towards what it thinks is good, even after being burned so many times. Of course there are always multiple ways to view an object, some that even the 'perfect' haven't yet seen. As all perfect is, is a stepping stone to the next.

Nah, the moth in here symbolizes a change, going from an ugly larva to becoming a beautiful moth. Exactly how Bill feels, and wants to be. He wants a metamorphosis

@@ManoloRibera070 It's both dude. Symbolism has layers, things can have multiple meanings. What this person said is accurate to Bill's character, so it works as an interpretation.

@@RileyWritey Bill worked with a butterfly collector. His ideal was more the beauty from butterflies than moths. But he chose this moth because of the death's head pattern on its dorsal surface.

I feel like Hannibal wouldn't be so uncultured as to call a moth a butterfly but maybe it was for Clarice's benefit... Assuming he thought _she_ might not know the difference.
