I agree with Hans actually, when Sagar said he could not take Amruta to Canada because he could not afford it, I felt that Fide should be paying for Sagar.

Sagar works for chessbase india. Not for fide. Further sagar does a lot of side business in chessbase india like selling sweets of his cousins etc. Samay I am not sure what that guy is good for why is he just so everywhere. They include Tanmay Bhatt regularly who is well known for making pedo tweets and enjoys the company of young chess players. Now they expect fide to pay them for their 'great work'

@ankitsharma203Ай бұрын
sagar's long term vision is really good . He convinced chessbase to open a sub-branch of chessbase in India , so they can sell chessbase software in cheaper price in south asian region .... cheaper price meant more sale and overall chessbase ended up earning more than before. Then struck a deal with FIDE to let them access matches in all chess events , which technically FIDE should be owned and distributed by FIDE only. This guy is a Lengendary Businessman.
@yugandhartorane2365Ай бұрын
As a chess fan and viewer of chadebaseIndia, I'd definitely want sagar to get special treatment for being the biggest chess creator from India. But sagar cannot ask for it by himself, it doesn't look right. Someone more influencial having contacts in FIDE should arrange it for sagar. I think vishy has some good connections, maybe he can do something for sagar, during the upcoming championship match.
@marcvandenbosch2128Ай бұрын
I think Sagar Shah is the person who really understands how fragile the ecosystem is. Niemann’s opinion is distorted because he really does influence views and it’s intoxicating. Niemann could be important to chess if he stops self-immolating. If not, he’s a foootnote
@striker44Ай бұрын
Hans has a point. Getting paid for the value-add is important. It is also good for Sagar-Amrutha's well-being and health. The only thing is that money and money should not get to one's head. Get small comforts but not seek entitled luxuries.
@gab4425Ай бұрын
Asking for bare minimum accomodation and a transport vehicle is not to much Sagar is weird to thing he's "working on growing the chess together rather than himself".. sure buddy... At the end of the day you are a media person just like in another sport. It's besides the point you can afford the accommodation or not . Fide not providing you one is messed up . Acknowledge it and move and stop trying to be the bigger person
@shrikrishnasingh1106Ай бұрын
A random media person is not called "family" by the candidatrs winner...
@sk-ig4wtАй бұрын
thats the thing , sagar probably fears he will not even get invited if he tries to ask anything, back when he started he used to borrow money to get to these event without any fide invitation
@ArunSharma5757Ай бұрын
@@sk-ig4wtbro then u definitely don't know much about sagar. As far as chess or any job is concerned I have never seen any man as passionate as sagar for his job and chess in general. He's doing it for chess...his purpose is to grow the game and players getting their due credit (money fame etc) like other sports. He does it for his love for chess. The man has streamed more than 20 hrs a day just because he had some guests lined up...this is how passionate he is. So it genuinely doesn't matter to him if fide facilitates him or not but yes I quite agree with Hans that being a big and growing channel and good track record sagar should get bare minimum facilities like accommodation and transport but this can easily be controversial because some other people can also ask for these things in the name of growing chess/popular streamers etc etc.. To add one more point, because of his passion and humble nature he has respect from almost every top players and all of them feel great while being interviewed by him or any interaction. He invites many players to streams etc all because of the respect he earned in chess world....

Agree with Sagar, everyone is interdependent and should grow together, no point in confronting authorities. Some are pushing this false narrative that Chess is shifting towards India , We shouldn’t fall for that. India is origin of Chess and we should excel in and demand larger role in governing body FIDE and for that we should take everyone along. A win-win for all approach.
