Je suis Parte I mean sure it’s effective but it’s not much thematically which differs from some of Hans’s most gorgeous works. Like Gladiator and Lion King. Ahhhh so good. And what makes Hans music so incredible, I feel The Dark Knight (2008) kind of lacks that. Certainly an incredible and effective score but it, to me, just doesn’t have the same emotional value that makes his scores so memorable. Apart from the ending cue.

I like Hans's lesser well known stuff. But his genius can be seen in Gladiator, Sherlock, Last Samuri, Intersteller. Overall he is a risk taker and I'm sure he never tries to repeat himself, he is definately one of the greatest innovators, Dunkirk, Inception, Intersteller, Dark Knight, the soundscapes he creates are amazing. The innovation builds on Jerry Goldsmith scores.

OK, I love Zimmer, I've been listening to his work for thirty years, and the guy is a genius (although it took Interstellar to make me admit it)... but what he did with Don Giovanni was pretty weak. Even when I hear his explanation. I know, it didn't ruin a good movie since these Sherlock Holmes movies are... well, Guy Ritchie movies, but still. I'm used to thinking : "how lucky is that very average flick to have its music composed by the great Zimmer !"...

paki Horner, you mean, perhaps...? I couldn't disagree more. He's composed more than 150 film scores, but I only remember a few of them, made between the late 80's and the mid-90's : Aliens, Glory, Legends of the Fall, Braveheart and Titanic (and don't talk to me about Avatar). Hs work is infinitely less eclectic than Zimmer's.
