Happo Ike Pond, the pond’s surface acts as a mirror, reflecting the Hakuba sanzan (three mountains)-Mount Shirouma, Mount Yari and Mount Shakushi. Our misty weather, on the other hand, presents a spooky, barren scene. All we can see are the reflections of the people across the pond, its as though they’re on the edge of the world.

This is beautiful! I just discovered Hakuba as a random spot on google maps a month ago (I knew nothing about this place aside from it being close to nagano) but now, I want to visit on my next Japan trip along with other places in Nagano and the surrounding countryside. Thank you for sharing!
