Kwame taught me the link between capitalism and imperialism. I can't thank him enough for that as it started me on my journey to becoming a Marxist. Power and strength to all liberation movements!

If only we could change the perspective of the conversation it would be the perfect solution to the question Sister Organizer Mjiba posed in relation to Kenya and all of our situations. The way we shift is to ORGANIZE AROUND WHAT WE WANT INSTEAD OF ORGANIZING AROUND WHAT WE DO NOT WANT. if only we realized by stating what we dont want the focus is still against instead of FOR. It can't hurt us to ORGANIZE AROUND WHAT WE WANT THIS TIME!!

At one time, I wanted to be the next Dr. Skip Gates. Then my research brought me outside of that ideology and I began to become more critical of Joseph and Gates because there was always the looming ugliness of capitalism, colonialism, and critique of the bourgeoisie that ran antithetical to my primary source materials in some instances. Once Ture, Nkrumah, Frasier, and Baldwin ACTUALLY became primary sources of my work, I was able to understand that I don't want to be a Skip Gates, and I don't want another Skip Gates.

8:47 Thank you for bringing this up. Spike Lee completely sanitized Kwame Ture in blackkklansman. I was so pissed after his scene. That whole movie was absolute garbage.

You get that definition of Pan-Africanism because folks view DuBois etc were the founders of Pan-Africanism. When Pan-Africanism goes all the way back to antiquity. See the Kmt Civilization which was a reflection of Pan-Africanism.
