He was 12 when the first Ford Model T was built. He was 15 when Titanic sank. He was 21 when US entered World War 1. He was in his mid 30's during the Great Depression. He was nearly 50 when World War 2 ended. He turned 60 during "I Love Lucy's" original run. He was 67 (over average retirement age) when JFK was assassinated. He was 81 when Lucas' Star Wars hit the big screen. He was 93 when the Berlin Wall fell. He was 109 when Twitter came about. And what a cool guy.

He was 16 when the Titanic sank, to think that he was nearly an adult when captain Edward Smith, John Jacob Astor Iv and the remaining 1500 people lost their lives in the sinking is mind blowing.

And unfortunately at age 105 he had to see a tragedy on the news like 9/11 were near 3,000 innocent people where killed. That was probably very shocking to him because he probably remembers when the WTC was completed in 1972 when he was at the young and tender age of about 75 or 76 years old.

This guy is great! He talks about his job in 1913, which is the year my grandmother was born, and she turns 98 in Jan. I am almost 42, and have become a lot lazier than I was 5 years ago. My dad is almost 68 and alway's on the move, works out everyday, and still drives a golf ball 280. Staying mentally and physically active is key!

These words comes from a man with 114 years of experience, and at 4:49 he summed up the most valuable guidelines that generation after generation miss and ignore. Kudos to this man, we should all have those values. After watching this small interview he got all of my respect. Rest in peace Walter, you truly deserve it.

I remember Walter's generation, they were dying off by the time I was born, but they were still around and I remember them into my teens. Both grandfather's of mine were born in the 1890s as well and I got to at least know one of them. If you lived in the 80s and 90s at some point you met someone from Walter's generation. When Walter talks about his grandfather at the age of three, it brings back memories of what I can remember of my grandfather at that time.

I love this guy and I watch this video once and a while just to keep things in the right perspective. My grandmother died on Sunday, and her funeral was today. She was 98, born Jan of 1913. She was a lot like Walter. She never complained, always making the best of what she had. She lived in Milwaukee and loved The Packers, Bucks, and Brewers, but especially the Packers, so I am glad she got to see her team win another Superbowl before she went. I will miss her!

Truly an incredible story! My grandmother will be 98 next month, and I think her secret is that she doesn't let life get to her, handling adversity well, and making the best out of it. She has out lived all of her friends, and my grandpa died in 1980 at age 75. She is still tough, hip, and cool to talk to. I think being that way is harder for younger ppl these day's, partly due to living in a more "spoiled" society. Pre-Baby Boomers had no choice.
