Over the past decade, movie studios have been setting up secondary headquarters outside of Los Angeles in order to avoid the influence of actors and writers unions in California. Georgia, being a "right to work" state, has less powerful unions, which allows studios to hire lower quality talent and treat them poorly. Unions not only protect actors and writers from exploitation and underpayment, but they also serve as an additional quality control for the movie industry, ensuring that studios have access to top-tier talent.

Yeah. So I am writing a time travel novel and at one point the characters save someone who has been crucified. According to an emergency doctor I asked (who was Buying a double shot espresso at 9:30 pm) that's a job for plastic surgeons, not orthopaedic surgeon. Problem is I love ortho bro and despise plastics
@SuperDoNotWant24 күн бұрын
Hand and wrist is usually the only real option for women who want to do orthopaedic surgery because... and I know this is going to sound horribly sexist... they don't necessarily have the physical strength to do other parts. The fact that orthopaedic surgery still requires a lot of physical strength is depressing. If you've ever watched a hip joint replacement or spinal fusion you'll wonder how they didn't unintentionally break more than they fixed. You'd think medical technology would have progressed past "shinier chisel, fancier drill and sharper hand saw" but nah. Anyway, that's one big reason orthopaedic surgery is so.... bro-ey.
@coderpro254924 күн бұрын
@@Noblebird02Just write in a hand/wrist surgeon. I’ve seen areas where plastics does this stuff because they have no subspecialties and I’ve seen hospitals and clinics with orthos who specialize in hand/wrist or foot/ankle. It definitely happens!
@Noblebird0224 күн бұрын
@@coderpro2549 like I think a lot of crucifixion was through the wrists anyway. And the legs were often broken. Orthopaedic surgeons are a lot more versatile, since they can do horse injuries etc. I am going to think of a reason why this particular orthopaedic surgeon (whose sports are soccer, rock climbing, rowing and plays the double bass) decided to specialise in wrists (but can still fix horse related injuries).
