Happy Father's Day to all dads. HFD Rory. My father was taken from me at 8 yo. In my early teens a man came into my mom's life who would become my step father. It took me years to realize all my step dad did for me. He really loved my mom to take on parenting a stubborn kid missing the structure a father provides for several years. I miss them both. Anything good as a man I am I owe to them. So whether biological or step we've been fortunate to have these men in our lives. Happy Father's Day!

Rory thank you for pointing out the step in father, I took care of a couple kids for a long time and then I met my wife that has 2 children that I have supported for 10 years I now have a grand child from my wife’s daughter that I have helped raise now for 4 years. I also have a 22 year old son that I raised myself as a single parent until I met my wife 10 years ago . I am so proud of my son Mason a he will receive his bachelor’s degree this December and will start his masters degree! And I have a 83 year old father that has taught me everything I know! Love you pop!

You are so spot on Rory. My Dad married my Mom on Valentine's Day in 1964. I have always said that he married Mom and my two sisters and me that day. He was the only father ever in my life. my biological "donor" abandoned us when I was one year old. Therefore the man who married Mom & her three children was the only Dad we ever had and because of his dedication to our family, I never referred to him as step dad. I figured he earned the title of Dad or Father and nothing else. Happy Fathers' Day to All Fathers.

Love it! I let my kiddo ride in the front when we're trail riding and cruising back roads! Her with her yoda is super cute mine has a Mr Fox and a care bare she takes with her girls are adorable. I am a step-dad but she calls me dad and calls her biodad Bill. She also got very upset one time I introduced her as my step daughter and it was instant tears as she told me she doesn't tell people I'm her step-dad she tells everyoneI'm her real dad. Boy did I feel like a turd and it really hit home how much this little girls loves me. Happy fathers day to Roy and all the rest!

Back in fall of '09, I became a single father of 4 overnight when my first wife was killed. Then in mid '10 when I "remet" shall we say my current wife, I gained 2 bonus kids. And ever since, we've been a true to life Brady bunch: us 2, 3 boys, 3 girls, 2 dogs and 3 guinea pigs. It's been fun!

That Was AWESOME, & I TO Was Raised By My Step Dad, & He Was Great, My Dad Was Killed In A Open Pit Mine Way Way Up & Back in The Mountains Of Colorado, He Was Blown Up Over 200 Feet Someone Lit The Dynamite Before He Got Out But About 250 Miles The Amblance got in A Bad Wreck in A Blizzards & They Had To Call For Another Amblance To Do The Other 1/2 of The Trip But He Died Just Before The Hospital in Denver, & My Mom ,My Sister, Brother & I Moved So She Could Work & Raise & Then Married My Step Dad Who Was ALWAYS DAD From Then On He Was Dad, Thank You For That I Was 5 & Now Almost 75 So That Was GREAT & SO Are You 👍👍👍 I too was one of the blessed and lucky ones. Either Dad would be almost impossible to live up to.

My father died the same year my son was born. My son's father denied him from the moment I told him, so I have raised my son totally on my own. I give a shout out to my brother-in-law who filled those shoes, my son loves him to death. But the happiest I have ever seen him is when he became a father himself. A trifecta & then a bonus. The view of dropping into the White Rim & Potato Bottom....I've biked the rim twice and been down on vehicles & hiked extensively 3 times. In past years, the Colorado river has flooded out the section Rory rode; I'm happy it was passible. I'm sorry about his jeep having problems; that reminded me of one of my jeeps a few years back, blew a rod and a new block and manifold had to be inserted ($$$). The tribute to his step dad was genuine, caring & passionate. I'm lucky that I had kind parents that offered so much direction & opportunity. My dad not a mechanical or vehicle whiz, he relied on others for that, but I got plenty of guidance in other areas, for which I am deeply grateful. Wonderful for R to have his daughter with him on the motorbike recovery, showing her that he cares. Really a nice & thoughtful "full presentation" with a quiet & sincere sense of solace.

Nice Fathers Day shout out Rory! I am the father of five great kids. Their mother unexpectedly passed away when we were both 34. I am now 64 and they are all grown now with kids of their own. Two of them I acquired and adopted when their mother and I got together. In my house there are no second class citizens. Love is thicker than Blood. I remarried years later and acquired my wife's two now adult kids. ALL of our kids get along very well and love each other regardless of background. Life is hard enough. I really respect your heartfelt feeling you shared about Gary. He must be a very special guy!
