I’ve probably been listening to this record since it came out. Years later I later got onto her in general (i.e. surfacing album and live album from closing night of surfacing tour). I would see her live opening for Josh Groban when that happened - good to have openers who don’t suck/aren’t profane/are so intimate/tell stories (she performed solo acoustic - vocals/guitar/piano/ukelele. She even dueted with JG during his set).

A lighter, uniquely Sarah cover of John Lennon's classic song - just in case you weren't around when Lennon released it many years ago (I was and long before that with the first post mop-top Beatles albums). This is an earlier song by her and true to the original arrangement, but IMO she truly hit the stratosphere with "Angel" in terms of her vocal nuance and power.

This. is. the.greatest. Christmas song. Scratch that as that would mean it is only worthwhile 1 month a year. This is a great song year round.
