One thing comes to mind here...."The proof is in the pudding"... This formula works on every genre of band folks. Great video HCMS! I think this is the ultimate climax that can and should happen with an online teacher who has been teaching and promoting their techniques. If you have the cash and can get the full stack producer, it's going to fill in the blanks, and be worth every penny if you apply yourself to it. This was a pleasure to watch.

I'm sure it's a lot to produce, but I would watch this every week in a series. It's nice wish fulfillment for those of us who aren't recording in a studio, but wish we were. I realize we're only seeing a small snapshot, and I'm glad you didn't just show the easy parts, but I'm curious what you do to make the band members feel comfortable when they're performing under the microscope. I think you can hear that comfort level in a performance.

The rhythm guitars were tracked through the Orange cab (V30's I think?) and a micro amp on the pedal board. The Lead guitars went through Neural DSP. The 5150 I think? And yeah, like @metaldeadman2441 said, the Mig didn't make the cut. It was too clean if I recall correctly, and we couldn't get enough gain out of it on it's own.

I realize this is like a highlights reel of a few days - but I'm curious, on average, how many takes these guys were taking ..? At one point the guitarist plays a higher arpeggio-type riff and breathes out like it took a lot of work, but it looked like he just aced one take .. Asking as I've done production work for a long time, but in a smaller community so "preparedness" always comes into question and I'm curious about normal expectations
@metaldeadman2441
@metaldeadman2441 2 ай бұрын
we went through a lot of different iterations on how we wanted that lead played, so there were a lot of takes just figuring out things like which notes should be palm muted, are we pedaling the root note between arpegiations, stuff like that. Once that was decided, it was a few takes to get clean. It’s not a super difficult lead, but it’s not a lead that’s easily broken down into smaller chunks so he had to get the whole part in one clean take so it did take a little bit.

Looks like there was an agreement with the band for Jordan to also help with production during the recording, which includes helping fine-tune the songwriting process.
