Russ’s monologue at the end centring around growth and gratitude feels like a defining point of the mission for his commitment. I’ve been rewatching a couple of the early videos and the difference in his mentality then to now is what will get him to Tunisia. Hardest Geezer? More like Deepest Geezer
@dans8066

I second the "Deepest Geezer" renaming. I guess when you are smashing tarmac for 60kms a day, you have a lot of time to do some thinking.

Absolutely extraordinary piece of film. Better than anything you'd see in any drama on TV or any 'reality' show. That was reality hitting home. This guy operates on a completely different level to most of us - I really really hope he gets through to the end. Cmon Russ

I had to rewatch your monologue Russ. That was a coming of age moment. Wow, you have truly arrived. This is the African mindset. The sense of gratitude, but also steely determination to push on through uncompromising obstacle. No going back. I wish you well for the rest of this adventure. Excellent work from you and your crew

Haven't commented yet for this whole journey, but think it is now necessary. Those beautiful words at the end epitomise the whole point of this mission, as well as the missions that each and every one of us decides to go through by getting out of bed and attacking the day. The feats that you are pulling off - and the immense difficulty that they require - have been inspiring hundreds of thousands of us around the world on a daily basis. That on it's own is a pretty incredible achievement, let alone running the entire flipping length of Africa. Keep holding yourself to the flame Russ, Bang Bang.

The amount Russ has grown just over the length of the journey so far is incredible, and his monologue at the end of this video was inspiring. It's the personal growth that will get him to the end, not simple determination, or stubbornness, or willpower, and he's embracing it.

The final 5 minutes of Russ monologuing is perhaps the greatest 5 minutes of this entire series so far. It really hits home after watching this series week after week, month after month how much commitment has been devoted and how much growth has occurred. I can only imagine how much Russ and the team have learned about this beautiful continent, about each other and about themselves. Diamonds form under pressure, and this project is absolutely batshit insane. This is one of the greatest things on the internet right now. Keep it going!

I’ve always been so inspired, and so admire people who undertake these seemingly super human feats. I was a little kid when I was obsessed with Terry Fox and his attempt to run across Canada for Cancer research; the Barkley marathon; now this machine of a Geezer. It puts my aches and pains in perspective and blows my mind.

Russ first of all I want to congratulate you for this truly remarkable quest, I first learned about you in the football across England vid with GeoWizard and then a video all about you on Zealand's channel, I'm a FM Fan, I'm also a seagulls fan being a born and bred Brightonian season ticket holder in the past, Glenn Murray a true Brighton legend coming out strong supporting you, how pleasing for you, what a result bruv. I have Autism, PTSD and suffered horrid acts with sexual abuse whilst being in Foster care as a vulnerable child I can't lie it has ruined my adult years due to drink and drugs running from my past feeling ashamed bro. However honestly after getting to the point of suicidal thoughts and suffering with a broken heart I really wanted to do something to stop this feeling. So I started walking, building myself up, walking longer and longer covering distances, 13 miles in a day moving, bought a bike started going on the trails with just me and my headphones looking for inspiration. Listening to people like you. I am so greatful to be able to watch this. This is better than any movie, any series and bore fest VAR football match. Everything I think about doing now I'm literally saying if you can run marathon after marathon and literally move yourself across the entire continent of Africa with all that you had to experience, then I can push, no moaning, no winging, I am truly blown away by you bro. Anyone watching over you can see that your a special kinda breed, made different. From a geeza that loves and coached football you have changed something in me, my mindset is different. From the bottom of my heart thank you. My Gf is also called Emily figure that. Emily's are also very special. Take care of yourself bro. If I bump into you I'm buying you a pint. Legend. Thanks bro. Lee.

Absolute legend Russ! Another great video Stan, Harry and Jared! That bit at the end was really poignant and great to share with us. It would be interesting to try and communicate some of the places that Russ goes to mentally everyday in his runs. I love the toilet humour but it's also nice to have the motivational content (I literally started running 4 months ago because of Russ and am now training for a half-marathon). I also wonder if you've thought about outsourcing someone to edit reel type content as another way of attracting new viewers?
