Hardsurface Modeling with FreeCAD and Blender

In this hard surface modeling tutorial I show how to export a model from #FreeCAD as STL and import it into Blender. I use the mesh design workbench to remesh the model, because the goal is to have a pretty good shading in Eevee render with a principled shader and no shading issues.

Thanks for these very clear tutorials, not millions of pieces of information that we get lost, just easy to follow steps, only explaining 2 or 3 features and directly show the result. Much appreciated as these will help me get a nice start in FreeCAD.

You can quickly select all the faces on the same plane using Select -> Select Similar -> Coplanar

Nice video! It looks like you dissolved some of the faces of the chamfer by mistake in that last step though. You might have some luck with Mesh -> Clean up -> Limited dissolve.

Yes, thx, it's a way to go. But I also wanted to point out how to deal with mesh accidents like this :-)
