Still I continue to ask all those absurd, irrelevant and weird questions. Imagine!! Would that be called top-notch Journalism? Journalism is not all about being fearless, it is also about quality of the questions and their relevance to the country affairs. Not about why one uses extra a at the end of his or her name? People like Arnab and Thapar comes under this category. I recommend you see Shekhar Gupta's way of asking questions. His questions are relevant, to the point and never meant to make anyone uncomfortable. He is a man of Etiquettes.

I am from Hyderabad and I remember watching this interview on TV in an office cafeteria while working in Chennai in 2004. This interview greatly influenced me. I remembered this interview for so many years and here I am watching again in 2018. She is brave, self controlled and look at the way she retorts to media questions. Hats off to her.

Everyone believes she is corrupt. I do too, as a matter of fact, that all politicians including her are corrupt. That aside, she has repeatedly answered his questions and he repeatedly ignored her answered and posed the same questions again and again. I must admit she had nerves of steel to sit there and call him out on the purpose of his interview without even raising her voice.

Will you be able to remember all the things you have studied till now? She did not look up to the paper to answer him for every question and ofcourse she might have forgotten some things that happened long back. It's a human nature that we cannot remember everything. He said that she was referring the papers. And he had prepared the questions which she didn't know. He can easily ask the questions. But to give the proper answer for any question, you need clear details too right. She was not taking papers everywhere which many politicians do nowadays. And he's trying to provoke actually. "Did you feel embarrassed?" These are the questions which you put forward to the CM. Not only CM, anyone even you or me. And out of curiosity, Did she ever reveal herself as a papathi as you strongly mention it? Please don't bring lame topics which are irrelevant to what we talk about.

Whether Karan was being mean or rude, it doesn't matter. The questions were political in nature, and not personal; that's what matters. The fact remains this kind of interview was possible back then. Now, do we have journalists who can question politicians in power on our TVs? Do we politicians who can take questions like these and face the journalists?

Best moments of my life, we participated in inter College quiz competition and audio of this interview was played and the movement i heard her voice, i was sure this was jayalalitha, and i read this interview on newspaper and was curious to watch and it helped me to bag the price and to get always inspired by this iron lady, indeed you are 'amma' to tamilnadu people. And it’s obvious that opposition party will throw dirt to the ruling party even if they are doing good for the people. He was himself continuously reading his notes and when she was seeing her notes he said you are reading from it, when he did the same while reading her statement she returned the favor to him it was like face palm. I must say I have not followed her so far but I will do so from now on.

Hi anon, Karan is not a good interviewer he is moderate. you must see many interviewer around the world far better than him.karan's interview is artificial he is not spontaneous he is always scripted (acting || performing).Karan is working for foreign company BBC . BBc is a dead broad casting network .

I really feel bad that I get to know her more lately, incredible style, composure, vocab.. Like we know more these days, Media is biased for personal gains, otherwise we would have heard more positives of her much before.. even on Dec 5th 2016, Media didnt forget to criticise her for many aspects. Thanks we have Social Media and somehow we could read between lines and acquire more reliable facts. Huge Respect towards Gem of a Leader. Ms. Jayalalitha. iam terribly sorry for all wrong impressions I had. RIP.

This is an excellent interview by Karan Thapar , he is asking tough questions to Jayalalitha. Jayalalitha is definitely a tough leader . Karan Thapar is known to ask tough questions, you can see his previous interviews with Kapil Dev, Ram Jethmalani and the infamous one with Prime Minister Modi . There is no doubt that Jayalalitha showed her aggressive personality during the interview. This is what journalists are supposed to do....

My reply was to 'penchal reddy's attempt to make it look like Jayalalithaa had gotten the better of Karan Thapar in this interview, WHEREAS, the reality was that she got flustered and agitated at his hard line of questioning, even though she *already knew in advance* that tough, inconvenient questions would be asked during the interview.
